hi all,

Just wondering when you should drain the water from the fuel/water separator?
Also when should you replace the two fuel filters?

What does your owners manual say?
Mine is 15k for both filters.
I’ve never had a need to drain water.

Outside of the regular service intervals, only time you should need to drain water from the fuel filters is if you get a warning light on the dash for water in fuel. At that point pull over immediately and drain the fuel filter housings; it’s in your manual.

Factory service interval is 15k miles.

Being you live in the cold country I would drain both filters before the over night temps stay at or below the freeze temps of 32 degrees, yes you can go a full year an not drain it or have problems, but I say why chance it? IMHO its best to drain the filters before cold temps... The below is from my owners manual:
Diesel fuel is seldom completely free of water. To
prevent fuel system trouble, drain the
accumulated water from the fuel/water separator
using the fuel/water separator drain provided on
both fuel filters.
