So this might be a simple answer and I tried searching but haven’t found anything. I’ve done most of the conversion using m2mods harnesses. I would like to run a limited steering wheel in my 2018 2500 6.7. The diesel steering wheels are hard to come by vs the 1500. The difference that I see is the gas version have the gear shift in the steering wheel. Can I swap my current one into the limited to match?

Appreciate any help.

They are known as ERS buttons.
Electronic Range Select.

Likely the best person to ask is @Mpgrimm2.

My 2500 (diesel) has them in the steering wheel…. so your question itself is….well…. questionable.

Yes, my 4th Gen Warlock has ERS buttons on the steering wheel.

AFAIK, all 4th & 5th Gen models since 2016 have either the ERS buttons on the steering wheel or on the column shifter, depending on the tranny.

.

The 2500’s with the 6 speed have the gear shift button on the shifting lever, not the steering wheel.

Why not find a steering wheel from a 2500 limited…im sure it would be plug and play then.

I kind of did the opposite and swapped a 2015 2500 Laramie gasser steering wheel onto a 2015 1500 Tradesman EcoDiesel several years ago. I just swapped the buttons from the 1500 wheel onto the 2500 wheel when I did that swap. It worked fine other than the steering wheel heater didn’t work because my Tradesman didn’t have that option.

You should be able to use the steering wheel as is (ERS buttons inop vs column), or disassemble the wheels to swap button assy over.

You can probably take the wiring harness and buttons from your current 2500 steering wheel and swap them over into a 1500 steering wheel, that way you're only swapping the actual steering wheel itself, NOTHING ELSE.
