You dont have the year and model of your truck in your signature. The instrument cluster may have a bad stepper motor. Depending on your skill it may be a diy and there are several people that rebuild and calibrate them.

I will do that. It has been in the shop for 3 weeks for a transmission swap ! The supplier sent an upgraded spline, but did not notify me or the shop, the supplier of the new slip yoke sent the wrong one, so naturally the 3 different sets of u-joints ordered didn't fit. The correct slip yoke should arrive tomorrow. Maybe I'll get lucky and get it back on Saturday. That would be the best birthday present I could ask for. 11/7/60.
