    Upgrading the Factory LED foglights

I posted this in the main electronics forum, but was given the suggestion to add it here as well. Are the factory LED foglights complete units, or are the lamps removable from the reflectors? I want to swap the white lamps for yellow ones. I'd rather not have to disassemble the reflectors.

    Brake lights flash while driving

There's usually a switch activated by depressing the brake pedal. It extends as you push the pedal. It is typically adjustable; adjust it so you have to push the pedal further before the switch engages.

    Had the blues today so....

Did you do the color change for the buttons yourself, or is there a kit you can get?

    CB Radio mounting location

Gotta remember though that any part of the antenna that's blocked by the body is going to produce a weaker signal in that direction e.g. if your antenna is mounted to the back of the cab, it'll transmit ok to the rear and sides, but the signal to the front will be attenuated to whatever degree...

    Upgrading the Factory LED foglights

Bumping; never got an answer as to whether the factory fogs use a separate LED lamp or are they a complete unit with the lighting element integrated with the reflector housing.

    CB Radio mounting location

I'll probably end up using a mag mount on the roof for now. I have a tonneau cover also, so I can't mount to a stake pocket or add a headache rack.

    CB Radio mounting location

The dash mount is one solution, though it does mean lots of wires exposed above the dash, and the radio doesn't really look integrated. I'm really hoping for something that looks a little more built in.

    CB Radio mounting location

I have a Bearcat 980 that has been sitting forever waiting to be mounted in my truck. But, I really don't want to tear into the dash or center console, and give up some existing feature to mount the radio. So, where is the best place to mount a CB in a 4th gen Ram with center console? I have a...

    Upgrading the sunvisors

Seller responded that they were sorry, and I could request a refund without needing to return the item. So now I have a black illuminated passenger sun visor for a 2019 Ram. Since I don't have the requisite post count here, it'll be going on eBay, and in the meantime I could use some help...

    Upgrading the sunvisors

Well, I got the visor today. They sent a different part than the listing showed. The part I got is an illuminated visor with a different base than the ones on my truck. I've notified the seller, let's see what they say.

    Transmission trouble alerts

So given that I don't have the correct drivetrain, is that button just going to be "dead", or could pushing it cause unexpected behavior? Or would it just be another 4WD High button?

    Transmission trouble alerts

So here's the interesting twist ending: I took the truck in this morning, and the selling dealership installed the new Electronic Shift Control module. It took them just about an hour as I predicted. However, when I got the truck back, there was a difference. The old shifter had an all-silver...

    Upgrading the sunvisors

I noticed that the hinge for different trim levels of visor are different. The one I'm buying has a snap ring on it which implies that it can actually be taken apart, whereas the lower trim (the one I'm replacing) looks like the hinge is pressed together. Does anyone know if the pressed hinge...

    Upgrading the Factory LED foglights

No, no film. I would want to put in proper yellow LED units.

    Upgrading the sunvisors

I got lucky, and found a nice black passenger sunvisor with a NON-illuminated *covered* mirror. Interesting. Grabbed that right away.

    Upgrading the Factory LED foglights

I have the factory LED foglights, and would like to convert them to yellow LED. Do they use some kind of LED bulb, or are they a solid unit so that the whole reflector and housing also would have to be replaced?

    Transmission trouble alerts

FWIW, the transmission itself seems to be shifting just fine, no odd behavior. The error message did focus on "Service Shifter" and the need to shut the engine off to engage Park, which do not seem consistent with transmission internals having problems.

    Transmission trouble alerts

It's not the servo inside the transmission that went bad. It's the electronic shift controller module that the rotary shift knob is part of. It's in the dashboard. Note the depth of the unit, all the control circuitry for the transmission shifter, the transfer case buttons, the autopark...

    Transmission trouble alerts

The powertrain warranty is only 5 years/60,000 on this truck per the window sticker, and when I bought it, it had just under 60k on the clock. And yes, you'd think that critical electronic systems like the control and management modules should be covered under all but the most basic warranties...
