    Engine Cover prank?

Maybe the service dept tech had something going suggesting it could be a sacrificial piece to keep mice away from the important bits.

    Engine Cover prank?

Don't know if these will have sufficient detail, camera on my phone isn't very good. Set of bushings at the back of the intake and captive nut by oil filler seem the main points, maybe something on the passenger side as well. Nothing looks disturbed, I'm going to have to stick with me being...

    Engine Cover prank?

Nope, I mean that Belvedere. How did you go about making up those numbers?

    Engine Cover prank?

I've got to conclude I was wrong about seeing a cover on my 5.7. Everything points to them not being included on the 2020 Classics. I swung by the dealership and asked about it, they looked up the information that they stopped installing them in 2019. The locating points and captive nuts are...

    Engine Cover prank?

Yep, a '67 Belvedere II . I had towed it with an '04 Dakota 4.7L but it started running hot when pulling and they put the Warlocks on clearance so it was time to get a bigger truck.

    Engine Cover prank?

I was told a 2020 Warlock is considered 4th Gen Classic, but I don't follow it that precisely. Have been posting about it here, but if I'm wrong will ask for it all to be moved over. Not sure which generation my Belvedere is, will have to search out forums where people might know.

    Engine Cover prank?

To be clear, the cover was there when I refilled the washer reservoir, the anchoring tabs at the back are in place as are the secured nut devices toward the front. Not that I don't appreciate wise-elbow remarks as I'm a bit of a fan myself, but this is a was-there-but-isn't-now sort of thing.

    Engine Cover prank?

Bought my Ram in January, left it in the driveway for the rest of the winter then started driving when the salt seemed done for the year and I sold the Dakota. Didn't really check under the hood except to refill the washer fluid, and when it hit 6k miles went under the hood for an oil change...

    Easy Recall

Are you saying that they reviewed parts inventory to find the error before anyone noticed? I would have thought the problem had to manifest itself first then they'd back-check the pipeline to find where and how it happened, and the extent of affected vehicles. If they found the problem before...

    Easy Recall

Tech said it was one guy responsible for the missing clips, no further details but I do wonder what they did to him as a result.

    Easy Recall

Got a notice in my truck to stop driving it, there's a recall for a brake clip. Naturally, not believing there was anything to worry about I drove to the dealer to pick up a battery for my Dakota then asked the svc dept guys what it was about. No kidding, the pushrod through the firewall is...

What sort of tales do your mileage meters tell you?

Not a solid bit of data because it's the first tank on my truck, but the program that updates real time in the dash display showed 16.9mpg while an actual comparison of miles traveled vs fuel added shows 14.7mpg. Truck only had 30 miles when the dealership filled it up, at 377 it took 23.5...

Would you buy this RAM? Carfax confusion

Some odd things can happen even with "new" vehicles, as I bought my 2004 Dakota in 2008 with around 250 miles on it. I saw it advertised at a Wisconsin dealership, took the VIN on a search to find out it had come from Virginia (or maybe it was West Virginia). I called that dealership and got...

What are you seeing in the way of current extended warranties

I called a different, nearby dealership that has other makes under the same banner (many of them here do that) and this one told me they use a different service provider. He referenced a class action lawsuit against the Max Care product from last year, indicating it steered them to researching...

What are you seeing in the way of current extended warranties

Our dealership offers only one warranty, they call it a service contract rather than warranty and it's sourced from Assurant.

What are you seeing in the way of current extended warranties

Thanks to all, I do not find any warranties going the full 10 years but certainly some going shorter with lower cost and lower deductibles. Plus the crap shoot of how one is treated when the time comes to make a claim, here and throughout the forum.

What are you seeing in the way of current extended warranties

The one offered locally has a $250 deductible which seems a good way for them to keep ahead of the odds over the long haul and I figure that's likely to be a loser.....unless something major goes out in that first 10 years or 100k miles. I do keep my vehicles for a while, a 1999 Dakota for 9...

What are you seeing in the way of current extended warranties

For a new 2020 Ram I was offered 10 years/100k or 10 years/115k at $2600/$2900, option to remove within 90 days for full credit and this is supposed to be the military/first responders price. Third party provider, I'd rather it were a factory program although from what I'm reading here those...

What DON'T you like about your RAM?

So far, with just 35 miles on it, the 8HP70 seems to shift by momentarily cutting the engine while it shifts then getting back to business. I could see the utility in that, engaging clutches and/or bands under reduced load might cut down on wear and would reduce if not eliminate harshness in...

    2020 Warlock

Got a call today, the dealership has hood decals and is offering to add one to my truck. Semi-stealth Warlock it is, then. They can't find anything to say it was optioned without the decals, but the guy said they could probably determine it through their information system.

    2020 Warlock

Thanks, folks, I'm curious how they documented things like this. From a small sampling of Warlock detractors here it might be a way to fly a little underneath that particular radar with a plain Jane wrapper on the truck.

    2020 Warlock

I have seen them listed as a part of the package, my window sticker does not show them deleted, or included for that matter, maybe they ran out of them that day and skipped mine. Only one of potential use might be the hood sticker on the silver truck, but I'm not sure there will even be much...

    2020 Warlock

Just picked up one of these new, it is missing the hood and bed decals which is odd because they had an identically prepared one with the decals. Just an oversight on the production line or were dealers supposed to add those?
