I experienced this 6 years ago.
First time.. A defective PCV. swapped it out it was fine.
Second: drivers side exhaust manifold bolt broke off. Soaked them all with wd40 for a day. Replaced the broken one (closest to the firewall) and torques the rest. Retorque all. As required
I am going through the same issue. Good exceleration however come down to idle and, it runs rough. Intermittently to the point of a stahl.
I found a mechanich that will do a SMOKE TEST. Pumping smoke through the intake (while engine off).
It will pump all the smoke through the ventilation tube...
You may have. Thanks. However, I know its the lifter. TIcking on drivers side.
Ive heard that PVC valve ticking before. Auto parts store will swap out that issue.
I am going to replace the valve lifters in my engine soon. Any and all good advice is welcome. I'm in the research stage at this juncture.
What are medium grade lifters, what lubricant is best to soak them in?? All kinds of Qs
Truck and engine 200k miles. Other than the anoying ticking at...
Engine ticking first 3 min or so on startup. Sounds like #7or5. My theory is valve lifters have lost tension in their springs. How close is my theory?
Othe than that I get a P0456 I have to clear often.
