I've been testing this the last couple of weeks in areas I drive frequently. I've been selecting gear 8 and as you mentioned, it downshifts as needed. Doing this has eliminated the rumble in areas of my drive where I notice the issue.
I wasn't sure if using the gear selector turns off MDS, but...
I'm inclined to believe it's the MDS as well. Using the gear buttons eliminates the rumble for me also. I have the 5.7/ 8 speed. Unsure of rear end gear however.
Truck is 4x2. Is there any known long term issue with using the (-) and (+) selector to turn off MDS? I've been doing it the last few weeks and not having the vibration/rumble has made the truck much more enjoyable to drive. Most of my driving is around town/city driving at less than 50 MPH so...
I have a 2014 Ram 1500 Quad Cab Sport with 73,000 miles and for several years I've noticed a vibration/rumble that feels to be coming from under the driver side foot rest area. The vibration/rumble is actually something I can hear as much as I can feel. It's most notable around 35 to 40 mph when...
Sounds like a winner to me. The stock system isn't awful when compared to other stock vehicles I've owned in the past, but I would certainly welcome something a little cleaner across the lows, mids, and highs.
Thanks for the info. My concern was actually that the tweeter wouldn't provide "enough" when compared to a 3.5". It seems most people are happy with the sound. I'll likely be going with the mopar kit as i'd prefer to avoid adding in resistors (i believe it's relatively simple, but I've never...
I'm looking to replace the 6 speakers in my 2014 Laramie with the 8.4" non Alpine system. I've seen a lot of recommendations for the Mopar Kicker upgrade speakers but the cost on those is currently $300 for all 6 speakers and I'm wondering how that system would compare to going with 4 of the...
Hi All,
Given the current market it looks like I'll be holding on to my 2014 Ram 1500 Quad Cab for a couple of more years. I'd like to upgrade the speakers and would like to see if their are any recommendations. I'm sure this has been discussed alot, but most of what I've come across are old...
I hear you and I kind of feel the same way, however I've been pretty busy lately and truth is I'm not really eager to spend a day pulling all the plastic and hoses away to get to the water pump. It's well within my means mechanically and I would have done it myself for sure 10 years ago, but the...
I took a closer look and it appears to be leaking from the water pump. The fan does have some play in it as well, so it appears to likely be the water pump.
Now deciding if I want to do it myself or have my local mechanic do it. I was quoted $500 for him to replace the water pump.
For a data...
It looks pretty close, although I don't believe the part on my truck has the little tab that is on the Dorman part. I'm not sure if they are the same part or not. I'll have to take another look under the truck for a closer inspection.
Yeah. It is quite a bit. It appears to me that it's dripping onto the belt getting slung onto alot of other parts and areas of the engine. Makes diagnosing It a little difficult as well. I'll take another look this evening and check the water pump as you suggested.
Hi All - I'm new to the forum and looking for some help. I noticed an odd smell the past couple of times I've driven my truck, so I climbed under it this afternoon to take a look. Sure enough there is a nice mess under the truck from what I believe is a coolant leak.
It's a bit hard to tell...
