Lifters keep failing in "rebuilt" engine! ADVICE?

Yeah, I mean I'm pretty mechanically inclined... I've rebuilt many 5.0s and and 4.6s (back before my kids came, and time was of no issue for me), because I find them merely bulletproof and have always had a deep love for them. I just happened to get a major deal on the Ram and hadn't been around...

Lifters keep failing in "rebuilt" engine! ADVICE?

A guy named Marco. He is out of Phillipsburg, MO. All his posts on Facebook go by "Hemi Builder". He talked a big talk and pretended to be a nice guy until he got my $4K and it started failing left and right. Actually In the process of going to small claims right now, because the initial fail...

Lifters keep failing in "rebuilt" engine! ADVICE?

No misfire codes. Slightly rough idle and you can really hear it while slowing down when it downshifts and starts sort of engine braking at low rpm around 1200rpm. I really don't think my phone is picking up the slight metal to metal sound. When you wind it up around 1500rpm plus it's like it...

Lifters keep failing in "rebuilt" engine! ADVICE?

Just did this about 20 minutes ago. All manifold bolts are good. The only logical thing I can think of now is that the cam is garbage.... I'm really just completely disappointed in this engine... her next stop is the "Park and Sell" lot. Appreciate all you guys advice and help. Best of luck on...

Lifters keep failing in "rebuilt" engine! ADVICE?

Here are 2 more vids. Up top, and down closer to where the sound is coming from. I don't feel any leaks anywhere. I'm wondering if a failing injector could be doing this.... Would a slight misfire cause slack in the valvetrain during operation? https://youtu.be/8AAKWlXYkRw...

Lifters keep failing in "rebuilt" engine! ADVICE?

Definitely a "tap tap tap". My phone isn't picking up the high-pitch pinging of the contact. The exhaust is nice and sealed. Checked all manifold bolts and they are good and the gasket is new, I'm really scratching my head on this one.... it remains the same once warmed up. This video was...

Lifters keep failing in "rebuilt" engine! ADVICE?

Okay so I tore it back down, and rockers and pushrods seem good and tight, no play at all unless you try hard to slide them on the rocker arm shaft itself. The pushrods and rockers looked good upon inspection before reinstalling. Soaked lifters for a good while before installing. Once I reach 2k...

Lifters keep failing in "rebuilt" engine! ADVICE?

Just replaced with new mopar lifters which ran me $650 for the set.... I pulled the cam and it looks absolutely flawless... so I reinstalled it... no cracks in any of the valve springs... my next assumption is maybe just a cheap weak oil pump? I know everyone says this is just a small percentage...

Lifters keep failing in "rebuilt" engine! ADVICE?

I replaced all the lifters myself over the weekend. The pushrods still looked flawless so I reused them (installed them the exact way they came out). Torqued everything to spec, soaked the lifters for 4 hours before install, got it all back together, I used mopar oem lifters, and it was pretty...

5.7 hemi new lifters still ticking need ideas

Well mine is a 2015... With the locked PCM.... which means I have to do the PCM swap along with buying the programmer ($900 PLUS $590 for the non-mds cam and MDS delete kit) vs. $60 for head gaskets and lifters that I get at a discount from my buddy that works at a dealership.... so.. that's why...

Lifters keep failing in "rebuilt" engine! ADVICE?

So I came across a 2015 Ram for a good deal that I was told needed a new engine. I swooped it up, and ended up taking it to a guy a few hours away from me to have a "supposedly rebuilt" 5.7 engine installed for around $4k dollars... Which seemed like an OK price... and he told me he was the...

    '19 5.7 Hemi Swap into '15 5.7 Ram Sport

I have read through the few posts on this topic, but mainly just see quite a few of 2018 hemi 5.7s being the donor for the swaps into older model Rams. I have only seen 2 threads referring to the 2019 5.7 hemi being the donor, and those threads appear to have been abandoned. I have recently...
