Look up adventure index on instagram/ his website for inspiration and design ideas. He built a DIY drawer system with a kitchen for a 4 runner. Im sure it can be easily adapted for a ram 1500 bed
I spoke with them yesterday, theyll swing by my shop sometime and give me an idea on cost but they're about 4 months out on scheduling right now...
I think I may like the idea of selling it as a roller the most. The truck has been nothing but headaches.. before I became involved with the...
So I am a licensed pharmacist coming into a management position in my families engineering company. I started about 2 months ago now. The engine was pulled from the truck and disassembly began in may.. I have no idea if this guy we had as a mechanic did anything right because everything he...
No experience with engine rebuilds beyond a 85cc 2 stroke Dirtbike… so this isn’t quite the same thing.
I also don’t really have time to try to learn as I am busy with several other things. Just wondering how best to proceed for the best value - not necessarily cheapest option
Engine has about 175k on it IIRC.
I like the Idea of having a machine shop do the heads and valve job. At this point is it worth looking into the MDS delete kit as well?
Long story short…
before I started, my company had hired someone who was in mechanic school and was supposed to be out full time mechanic. He began working on replacing the cam and lifters in a 2014 ram 1500 we have and we ended up having to let him go 4 weeks into the attempted lifter job… yes...
I also have some of the Icon 2.5s. Before that I was running the Eibach pro truck front lift. IMO the 650# springs are stiff for a stock front end but not over the top stiff. My analogy of stock front suspension vs Icon front suspension is like a trail riding dirtbike (stock) vs a motocross bike...
The time has come for my 1500 to transition from my personal vehicle to a company vehicle for other (older folks) to be using regularly. As such I think that in addition to adding power steps, I will need to un lift it. For the front I know I can just turn the icon coilovers down from the 2.5"...
Unfortunately it would likely be a quick lube type place where that is done. It is hard enough to get some people to just take the truck to get an oil change, let alone find a place that will do what I would want them to do.
It looks like my ram will stay in the family afterall. It is going to become a company work truck and will be un-lifted and put back to 33s.
I already have warped exhaust manifolds that need to be addressed. Most likely this truck will be used for one of my family business construction...
Wow these superduties are big… and ugly …and don’t worry I’ll be the first to admit that the 2023 MY when bone stock is about as ugly as the Chevy HHR was. But it’s got good bones and I really like the lifted looks on the 23s
I second @crazykid1994 on not using zone UCAs. I tried for months to get a good alignment and was not able to with my setup. Switched to JBA and it has been dead on for 30k miles now
I may still be lingering around. My families business has some ram 5500 chassis cabs on order that will be used as crane trucks- when they get delivered:confused:
Did my (probably) last oil change for the truck. Moving from TN back to FL this weekend and I have new rig being shipped from the dealership to me sometime next week .
It looks like the limiteds come with the standard output diesel and 3.73 gears. I would say give it some time driving to see if you really do need to regear. Also being a MY23 it will likely take some time before the big brands come to market with gearing kits.
FWIW I just purchased a MY23 F350...
It looks like this week I will be moving into a 2023 f350 XL trim CCLB and trading my truck for it. I am going to work in the family business and will no longer be practicing as a pharmacist. We need HD trucks for the business so I figure rather than take a full salary the company can buy me a...
HID kit from a site vendor- @Underground Lighting
Had them in for about 8 months now and they have been awesome. I even had an issue where I didn’t put the cap on the back of the headlight correctly and it filled with about 3 cups worth of water and the headlights didn’t have any issues even...
I agree with @IDSandman
If you can get separate amps for speakers and sub you’ll get much better performance from both.
You can also get a much more powerful mono amp for driving a subwoofer for less money than a similar rms 5 channel
I am also not an audiophile but in my experience with truck speakers (my 2003 ford 6.0 only had 4 speakers and my brothers 2007 ford 6.0 also only had 4 speakers) even just a moderate spend + amp is a dramatic upgrade. When I bought speakers for those vehicles, I think i spent ~$100 per speaker...
Ill be digging my eibach front lift out of the back of my parents garage in the coming weeks to throw that back on so I can sell the Icon coilovers privately. Nothing wrong with them but I'll be going to work for the family business and will be upgrading to a 1 ton truck
I have had no issues with the body lift causing any changes in ride quality in the last 2 years. I’m happy with the way it came out and I don’t have any new vibrations that I didn’t have before the body lift
