I went with the S&B CAI and Magnaflow cat back system (#16869). Very pleased with the sound and performance. Definitely gives it a deeper and "throatier" sound at idle. Getting on the throttle sounds awesome. I did the install myself in a couple of hours (with my 9 and 6 year old fetching tools...
Removed my factory dual exhaust system so that I could install my Magnaflow cat back system. Anybody have an idea what I should ask for it? Truck only has 1600 miles on it, so it is barely used.
Also, is Craigslist probably the best place to sell? Is it worth anything to the scrap yard...
Thanks for the input guys. I did confirm with someone at S&B that the two small holes that I referenced in the original post ARE SUPPOSED to be there and are designed to drain any condensation or moisture that could become trapped in the air box.
WHEW!!! Thought maybe I installed it incorrectly.
Yes, there are four holes in the bottom. Two of them have bolts that run down in to the fender well where they are held on with washer and lock nut.
The other two holes (one in each of the corners closest to the engine) are the ones in question.
One other quick thing, did you guys have a small hole in the two corners closet to the engine (not on the two corners against the side of truck)?
I couldn't figure out what those were and wasn't sure if they were maybe there for drainage or something??
I should have asked before I put intake tube back on and took it for a test drive. Oh well, I will install the engine cover this weekend when I put on my exhaust.
Thanks guys!
