95 dodge ram u joint problem

So, problem is solved. The original u joint I pressed into the driveshaft was a moog part # 254- application says it's for the cardan joint near the transfer case.... So I went back to advance and made sure they had the right one for the right application. I got a moog part # 316 and swapped two...

95 dodge ram u joint problem

Awesome thank u. Do you have any idea of where I can get the correct retaining straps? If the yokes are the same, ordering new straps for a 97 would be pointless because they are the same right? Lol

95 dodge ram u joint problem

Hey guys, thanks for the responses. Did a little research and the guy who sold me the axle was super cool. Came out of a 97 1500 5.9 auto.... What I'm thinking is order a u joint for that exact truck and get the straps but I thought all of those parts were universal. I'll give it a whirl and if...

95 dodge ram u joint problem

Ok I decided to go out this morning and have confirmed the u joint is too small inside the yoke- you can see a nice amount of daylight in between the u joint straps. I will be looking for a conversion u joint but this is bizarre because I really didn't think the two axles had any differences.

95 dodge ram u joint problem

Hello everyone, haven't posted in a few years now and my latest project vehicle is a 95 ram 1500 I picked up a few months ago. It has a 5.2- 5 speed combo and is single cab. I had driven it a few times and I'm surprised the owner before me put kids in it- the steering was that bad. Anyways I've...

    Leveled 03 1500

    Leveled 03 1500

Well after removing that horrid 3" "lift kit" I finally finished the truck new wheel bearings new ball joints pressed in and new control arms for both sides. The truck does have a t bar crank. Here's what I don't understand. When the truck is off jack stands the weight of the truck puts...

    3" body lift

There is a YouTube video that's actually pretty detailed about it with close to the same year truck and concept. Looks like a pain just because of how much stuff can cake into those body mounts over the years.

    First truck lift

Just from some personal experience I would hate to see a repeat of what happened to my truck. I'm sure there are better kits out there but I just so happened to buy the 3 inch "lift kit" on eBay with rear lift blocks re indexed torsion keys and shock extenders. Absolute waste of money. Trust me...

    3" body lift

Really looking Into doing a 3" body lift soon. Anyone have experience with these? I've done plenty of pick up bed swaps and I know how big of a pain body mount bolts are... Do you run into any other problems with wires, lines, etc. trying to make a good decision this time. Thanks - Sam.

    Leveling kit gone wrong

Thanks so much. That's what I was afraid of. It's crazy how much stress can be put on the front suspension with these "upgraded" keys. Does cranking the stock keys hurt the cv angles, ball joints, etc. ?

    Leveling kit gone wrong

Bought a kit from supreme suspensions for my 2003 1500 4.7l 4 door. Put in 2" lift blocks in the rear and re indexed torsion keys. Everything went petty smoothly until I took it for a quick spin and both cv boots happened to rip. (only outers) so I brought the adjusters for the keys way down and...
