If your replacing your factory head unit why spend all that extra money on an OEM camera? just get an aftermarket one for a fraction of the price and plug it right in.
you'll loose the armrest USB anyways with aftermarket radio.
The stock radio goes right back in no problem even after you cut the cross member. Cut it out and put in what ever radio you want.
I bought a set of Maxliners. fully molded and works great. They aren't "soft" they are hard plastic which some people don't like but they were half the price of weather tech when i got them on sale. i love em
what baum said.
The harness will have a wire that will power when you put the truck in reverse and you use that to automatically switch your head unit to the video input. Alot of aftermarket radios have dual video input so if your does then you would manually flip to that input when you want to...
That bluetooth unit is the one the dealer offered to install, and my buddy got it in his truck. Works great but for the cost i could install my old radio from my old truck.
There are a lot of videos online showing you exactly what to do. Also this dash is about the easiest dash i have ever...
The USB in the armrest does not work with aftermarket radios, even those with USB inputs on them (as mine does). Its a micro USB behind the radio and the adapter that Metra sells didn't work. If you search the threads you may be able to find it, but a guy on here was trying to make his work...
JROD's on it, metra's makes the kits you need. You'll need:
Mount
Harness
Antenna adapter
FYI i haven't messed with it since last fall but no one could figure out how to make the USB in the armrest work with aftermarket radios. Metra sells an adapter but it didn't work for the guy who bought...
lots of aftermarket options with more features and WAY less money than stock options. I actually chose the base radio in my truck so I could rip it out. search around there are a ton of threads
Burla how did oil not drip all over the suspension when you took the filter off? its directly under the tube i see no way to keep it from dripping/spilling.
Worst filter/oil to change 06 civic hybrid. had aerodynamic plastic skid plates that wouldn't allow the oil pan to fit under the drain...
I have an aftermarket head unit and installed a camera just like this except i ran a wire along with the RCA video cable and hooked it up to the purple (its been a while thats just a guess) so it comes on when the truck goes in reverse and switches the display to the camera. i didn't like the...
Got a set of AVS in channel from AutoAnything installed couple weeks ago during a lucky warm spell. It adds some wind noise but my radio will go louder to take care of that
they way that website states "no welding required" over and over I would have made them send me a new set for free. Obviously that statement is bull!!!
When you get your new ones on wash that bad boy and post some pics!
I think the question that needs answered from someone who has the center console is, "Does the center console butt up to the dash?" I've looked at dozens of pictures online and I just can't tell if that center dash piece needs to be different or if the console just butts up to it. if it does...
finding 2013-2014 PF mirrors online is like finding a unicorn! anyone want 2013 sport mirrors that wants to get rid of their PF???? :emotions122::emotions133:
depends on where you live and listen to radio at. I find in city I have 100% same reception with standard radio and HD radio. however out in boonies hunting I have very poor signal. I don't listen to radio though i stream music from my phone so I don't care but if i did i would have to switch...
ran into the same issue on my 13. Can't find any that state they work with factory steps. Kinda gave up. I was going to look and see if the steps can be slid back at all but haven't gotten to it. hope you find a solution and post up if you do would love to know!
well that sucks!
I think the "solution" is to do a single run and then splice it into the current plug in the panel. Remove the rest of the wire "hub" part that might be causing the issue. That way it remains factory looking but functions with aftermarket radio. That's gonna be my plan next...
