    2020 2500 6.4/ 3.73 Gas Mileage!

I wonder if a dyno would also show a change in parasitic loss between the 6 sp vs the 8 sp?

First heavy tow with the hemi (15k)

My f150 EcoBoost had much more aggressive downshifting when you pressed the brakes, the harder/longer you braked the more it would downshift. That's literally my only complaint. 11k and 4.10s, I'll suspect you will be very pleased!

First heavy tow with the hemi (15k)

Well well, a aired the tires up and went to my folks to test tow the gooseneck trailer with the tractor loaded. The trailer, loaded with 5075 JD tractor and a 7 ft brushwacker attached weighs right at 15k. My truck is a 2019 bighorn 6.4 hemi with 3.73 gears. I drove a twisty tight little 2 lane...

    8 speed complaint

I don't think you get what I'm saying. Let's say I'm in town doing 45ish 7 gear in T/H. As soon as I hit the brakes, I would prefer it to bang down the gears faster to provide engine braking. At no point was I advocating for lower RPMs and higher gears, quite the opposite actually.

    8 speed complaint

So the way it downshifts in cruise is about the way I would like it to shift when not in cruise, but still in T/H. Yes, it will downshift in town when you hit the breaks as you describe. I would prefer those shift to be more aggressive/quicker when in T/H.

    8 speed complaint

Also nice in the city with lots of red lights, or hilly/twisty back roads.

    8 speed complaint

I don't see why not, when I tuned my 2012 ford via 5 Star the tow tune increased the shift strategy agression along with fueling and boost.

It seems like it would be a super easy adjustment.

    8 speed complaint

To be frank, the tow haul mode is not aggressive enough. I really wish it would hold gears longer and down shift more aggressively when braking on the downhill bits. Things like driving around in town and slowing down at a red light, I find myself waiting on it to downshift to give some engine...

6.4L 410 rear end mpg estimations

City driving can mean lots of things, are we talking inner city Dallas, or a city of 50k? I live in Little Rock, AR about 2.3 miles from my office. Going to the office it's mostly uphill with 8 red lights. I get about 9-10 mpgs with my 3.73s. To be honest my EcoBoost f150 only got 11-12 doing...

    6.4 changes

Besides the obvious 8 speed, were there any other changes to the motor? I know hp and torque values are the same. Is the gear hold "feature " that sucked on the ike gauntlet still around in the new generation? Oddly it seems like the stock exhaust note on the 2019+ is more aggressive.

    Local dealer ticked me off

I don't think you understood my statement. I was concerned about a 1.5 inch crack in rubber. My concern was a defect in the tire causing it. I'm smart enough to understand that a warranty does not cover a nail. I was very ticked when he quoted me over 300 bucks to replace a tire verses patch...

    Local dealer ticked me off

10-4, I was assuming in the event of a tire failure the dealer would be the person who reached out to Firestone. I was assuming a Firestone warranty, not a FCA warranty. That being said the previous owner had purchased a tire and wheel hazard warranty (for like $1300). He quickly quipped, "it...

    Local dealer ticked me off

I get that, this being my first ram I don't have a relationship with any of the local Ram dealers. I was hoping to find one, like them, and continue using them for service/ warranty work. My perception was "you didn't by it from us, go pound sand".

    Local dealer ticked me off

So a week ago I found a used 2019 truck I love at a dealer 250 miles away, great price and more packages versus what I was able to find locally. Local trucks were all base tradesmen and base bighorns new or few miles for similar price. I noticed a leak in my front tire on Friday. Upon...

    Dealers are not responsive

Man o man, I just went through the same thing. I had to fly to OKC to buy a truck. Local dealers wouldn't budge and/or didn't have a gas 2500 I liked. The one local truck I found, the salesman wouldn't text me back.

    Is anyone shopping right now?

@Gray goose Yes sir, I love this thing! I aired the tires to 60 psi and it rides marginally more firm than my f150. The 6.4 and 8 speed are a match made in heaven, I'm happy with mpgs and available power.

    Step bars

Hey guys. New to ram here just bought a 2019 2500 6.4, love it! However she sits a little high without step bars. The step bars on my f150 were perfect, they sat out wide enough to provide plenty of area for your foot. I would like something similar for my Ram. Conversely, the nerf bars on my...

On a 250 mile hwy drive from OKC to Little Rock, she averaged 17.4. I drove between 65 and 75 for the most part. Color me impressed.
