    Bed Rails Falling Off

The rails are cheap, and really easy to install - literally takes about 30 seconds, they just snap into place. Your dealer probably even has a few them in stock, as they are a pretty common item to replace. I wouldn't worry too much about the holes left behind from the rivets. I guess you can...

    2014 Ram with RA2 UConnect 5... iPhone 8?

I have a 2014 Ram with the 5-inch touch screen radio (RA2/UConnect 5). I have an iPhone 6 and it works well streaming music to the radio in my Ram. That's pretty much all I use for music in my truck, so it's important to me that it works and works well. My phone is due for an upgrade, and I'm...

    Rust! On the INSIDE?

Well, hopefully that's the answer. No signs of anything leaking now, and I can't find signs of any other water damage besides the rust. And the truck still has "new car smell", so if it ever had water in it, they must have cleaned it up pretty good afterwards. I guess I'll just clean off as...

    Rust! On the INSIDE?

I thought of that when I first saw the rust on the bolts, which are right on the floor - but the rust is on everything under the seat, including the brackets and other hardware which are a good 5-6 inches above the floor.

    Rust! On the INSIDE?

There is rust under all the seats. All the bolts and seat brackets, all the hardware under there has rust on it. The CarFax report is clean - it was a lease turn-in, single owner, local, no insurance claims, no major repairs, clean title. No recent major flooding around here that I know of...

    Rust! On the INSIDE?

I bought my Ram used a month or two ago. I looked over all the important stuff underneath and under the hood before I bought it, but I never thought to look under the seats. Today I stuck my head under the driver's seat to see how much room was under there to install an amplifier, and what did...

Park Sensors and aftermarket amps - what happens to the beeps?

Crap. What's this PAC interface adrianp89 mentioned? There has to be a workaround for this. I can't be the only guy in the universe who ever tried to add an amp to a factory system in a Ram with Park Sensors...

Park Sensors and aftermarket amps - what happens to the beeps?

The beeps are unaffected by the volume control. That's why it's a problem. If the beeps were relative to the volume, then this would be a non-issue.

Park Sensors and aftermarket amps - what happens to the beeps?

As crash68 pointed out, the beeps do come from both the front and the rear, but now I'm wondering if the front beeps are in both the dash and the door speakers, or only in the dash - if only in the dash, then I could pull the audio from just the front door speaker outputs. Anyone know if those...

Park Sensors and aftermarket amps - what happens to the beeps?

Okay, so what about the other part of my question - you've confirmed that the beeps are coming out of the radio, which means they'll be going into the amplifier - which means I'm going to be amplifying the beeps at 150W per channel. That's going to hurt, isn't it? They're already obnoxiously...

Park Sensors and aftermarket amps - what happens to the beeps?

I have Park Sense and I'm adding an external amp to my factory radio (base 6 speaker system). I assume the Park Sense beeps are coming through the HU to the dash and door speakers, since the radio volume drops when the beeps come on. If I add an external amp and feed it from the speaker...

    Fast charge USB port

Short answer is no. It's a USB 2.0 port. The official USB 2.0 standard limits current draw to 0.5A, which is 2.5 watts at 5V. Some devices will ignore the standard and draw more than 0.5A if the port allows it, but fast charging is a completely different animal. Fast charging requires some...

    Dirt under bedliner

I used my truck as a truck this weekend, hauling 6 loads of topsoil. When I finished, I gave the bed a good washdown, and just when I thought I was done I pointed the hose at the edge of the bedliner (plastic drop-in type, factory installed) and sprayed some water up in there. A whole lotta...

Replace towing mirrors with regular mirrors?

What additional hardware would I need to make these work? My current mirrors are powered, heated, with turn signals and puddle lights, but the folding is manual. I assume there's a switch panel and a computer module I'd need to add to make the power folding mechanism work? And maybe a computer...

Replace towing mirrors with regular mirrors?

I bought a pre-owned Ram that came with towing mirrors, but I don't really do much towing - only a small popup camper that I can pretty much see past without any special mirrors. What I like about the towing mirrors is that there's really no blind spot at all - the outer convex mirror gives me...

    Long crank

Thanks for that info - I will definitely pass that along to the dealer if I end up taking it in for this.

    Long crank

I tried that this morning, and it fired up on the first crank. It looks like you may be onto something here. So is a loss of pressure in the fuel lines a normal thing? Or is it something I should be concerned about?

    Long crank

New owner of a used '14 RAM 1500. Sometimes when I start my truck after it's been sitting for more than 24 hours, it will crank for an unusually long time before starting. Not alarmingly long, just longer than what I would consider normal. Normal start sounds like: R-R-Roar Weird start...

    Insurance

Your insurance rate is determined by so many things - your location, driving record, age, occupation, distance to work, marital status, family situation (teen drivers in the household), income, credit rating, types and amounts of coverage, limited/full tort options, etc, etc, etc. Trying to...

    ParkSense chime volume

I have the RA2 radio (UConnect 5.0) and ParkSense front and rear sensors. According to the owner's manual, I should be able to adjust the volume of the ParkSense chimes to LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH. I don't seem to have an option to adjust the volume. When I go into Settings/Safety and...

    4th Gen DIY Index

This index is wonderful. Thanks for putting it together. Totally solves the problem of not being able to find the write-up you need when you need it. Now, the next problem to be solved is all the broken image links in many of the write-ups, courtesy of photobucket. Might I suggest that...

Bed rail covers - part numbers?

Thanks for the confirmation on the part numbers. The dealer wants about the same price for them, so not a big deal either way - I just wanted to make sure I'm getting the right parts before I order them. :favorites13:

Bed rail covers - part numbers?

I just bought a used 1500 with a 6'4" bed. It came with some cosmetic damage to the plastic covers on the bed rails, so I want to replace them, but I'm a little confused on which parts to order. Here is a link to the allmoparparts.com site showing the various parts for the bed, but it only...

    Overloaded 2016 RAM 2500 - Effects?

^^^^ This. If you get into an accident, regardless of the cause, your insurance company will use the fact that you were overloaded to deny coverage. And if there are injuries or deaths, there will be lots and lots of lawyers involved, and they will work very hard to find something they can use...

    2017 Ram with UConnect 5.0

I know this is an old thread, but I came across it while searching for a solution to this problem, so I thought I'd add this for anybody else who comes along. I set the first satellite radio preset to channel 0, which just shows your subscription info on the screen and is silent. That way...
