    Intermittent bad miss

Ok, first, what motor? Have you noticed any massive amounts of oil consumption? Does it do it more when its cold or warm? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Low oil pressure on 97' Ram 2500

Its not too bad of a job, but it can be a pain in the ass to drop the pan because of our front crossmember. If you can lift the frame up enough to keep the axle off the ground, I've heard you can sneak the pan out easily. I have had to lift the motor some with my own experiences. Sent from my...

Low oil pressure on 97' Ram 2500

Also, use a good filter. DONT use fram or K&N. Id honestly recomment a Napa Gold filter or a Mopar filter. IMHO Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Low oil pressure on 97' Ram 2500

20w-50 helps with higher mileage motors all day long. Every older vehicle I have runs it and even my newly rebuilt 360 for my 97 will be running it also (full synthetic though). Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Low oil pressure on 97' Ram 2500

Mine did this when I first bought it, had 240k on it, so I switched to 20w-50. You can try this and see if its any different, if so then you could have a bad oil pump or bad rings. You could also pull the oil pressure gauge and clean it to see if it fixes the issue. Sent from my SM-G955U using...

    Gen Light illuminated

Check your alternator when its warm, but look for 14.3v from the alternator to the battery. When the alternator is cold it may work right, but once warm it maybe dying. Also, if you don't have a multimeter, you can go to any autoparts store and ask for a electrical system test. Explain to them...

    5.9l Misfiring

Well good news, the truck just lost all oil pressure at idle which has given me a reason to just rebuild the whole damn thing lol. Looks like I'll be starting a build thread shortly. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

    5.9l Misfiring

I havent checked Vacuum, but today it cylinder 7 has died completely. Doesnt matter how fast I run or anything... it is 100% misfiring at all RPMs... 1 and 7 have been the worst about the misfire, but thats it. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

    5.9l Misfiring

I'm debating on reringing it, but I think I am going to wait until I pull it apart before I decide. If I'm gonna rering it, then I might as well have the crank clearanced and the cylinders bore-matched Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

    5.9l Misfiring

Well, I wonder if anyone has a set of used EQ heads for sale. Then I could have the machine shop run through them. If I could save a couple dollars then might as well. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

    5.9l Misfiring

Ive tried many different cleaners, but I wasnt looking to gain massive power. I'm looking for more useful power thats all. The heads are original, I now have a coolant problem where I'm losing a gallon a week with no drops, and I am tired of the issues. The truck is rust free and one of my...

    5.9l Misfiring

I have limited it down to the heads being cracked and the valves being caked in carbon. I did a running compression test about a week(ish) ago and can see that a couple cylinders have a bunch of overlap during the compression cycle, which I am thinking is why my cylinders have been having...

    Vibration at 50 mph help

Sounds exactly like my truck when I have a misfire. It starts shaking horribly when it goes into overdrive. Try switching off the overdrive and see if it goes away. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

    Amazing this thing still runs.

My trucks plunum was welded and pressure tested, which fixed my oil consumption issue until recently when my misfire started up again. Now I've found a series of small cracks throughout the stock heads Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Probably gonna go with Steel, but then again I have been thinking about boosting at some point in time so I may just go aluminum. That way I can start scratching off the things on my list. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
