    Gladiator at the local dealership

I like the idea of a truck convertible. I think these will sell well for the first little while (two years). I then see Jeep guys turning their nose to it, and truck guys as well. Because it is not quite either. It will become a niche vehicle. Tacoma's will continue to outsell all the other...

Does anyone not like the 2019 RAM 1500?

I think the 5th gen looks better than my 17'. I like that it has a boxy front end. When I think of pickup truck that type of front end is what I see.

    Got my new truck

If he has a tradesman. There is a chance he doesn't have the full time (44-44) t-case. Brandon, does the switch mess with the ABS? When I had my ZJ, my ABS was useless with the part-time 4x4. I would switch of it when I would get into slick braking surfaces. I believe the newer 44-45...

    Another tailgate recall?

I think you're right. It sounds more like they expanded the recall to more vehicles.

    2015 to 2019 upgrade?

I like the new look of the 19's. I would wait until Ram updates the Hemi with something better/newer. I tried both my 17' and the new 19', for a guy who buys mostly mid level trucks, not enough of a difference to get me to shell out more $$$. If you buy the higher trims, it is quite a bit...

    Another tailgate recall?

I just saw something about a tailgate recall affecting 2015 - 2018. The recall starts in June. I had a recall repair done a month ago for my tailgate (17'). I believe it was pretty old, FCA had been bugging me about it for months. Is this the same recall from months ago, did they just expand...

Going Into Park Automatically When The Door Opens

Plug your seat belt in and sit in front of it. I think it bypasses it.

    2017 8 speed Transmission

I am just thinking, if 7 - 9 quarts comes out, make sure the same amount goes back in. If that requires lifting the rear to do it, so be it.

    2017 8 speed Transmission

I have seen a few videos on it. Valvoline Maxlife seems to be what people are saying is a cheap alternative (their website says it meets specs, who knows?) I figure drain it, put a new filter/pan on, measure how much came out. Put the same amount back in. Add a little Lubegard Red and you are...

What DON'T you like about your RAM?

4th gen looks old, kind of like a Dodge Caliber. Cheap plastic handles. Seems to be an FCA/Daimler thing. The plastic clad rims, Ram seems to be a leader in this. Really cheap cloth seats. GM fabric feels nicer and will probably hold up better.

    Long time Ford guy

Turbos last for many hundred of thousands of miles on diesels. Same principal, exhaust gases turning a turbo. If good oil is used, I wouldn't worry about the turbo. I would worry more about cam and piston wear, just like the Hemis we have.

Vibration in steering wheel and gas pedal

I notice it a little in my 17', when in 4wd auto. I usually only notice it when pushing it a little up the canyon getting to the resort.

    Long time Ford guy

My wife really liked the suspension and steering on my Ram. When I test drove them, this is what I found (imo): Best- 1. 2019 Ram, 5th gen, I like the looks and the feel of it. The 8 speed paired with the Hemi is awesome, same with 4th gen. Less droning noise than my 17' when MFS kicks in and...

    Long time Ford guy

I wouldn't dig too deep in this forum. You will see just as many posts about hemi and ecodiesel problems. I like my 17' Ram, lots of truck for the money. But after taking a Ford 2.7 with the 10 speed on a ski trip with a friend. It is really the engine to beat, really, really impressed. Just...

Help! Used 2016 Laramie or New 2018 Bighorn?

Seems a little high $$ for that many miles on a Laramie. Maybe find a motivated private seller and score a good deal with less miles. I like nice interiors, but I was used to crappy cars. So anything felt better than what I had. A Laramie would be amazing. The more I see the 5th gens, the more...

Why did you buy your truck?

My wife told me she was embarrassed driving around in my really old Jeep when she had to take it to work. It was my car from high school, I bought for $4000. Bought a 17' because I like the smoother coil suspension and transmission and it was much less $$ than a comparable Ford or GM (I did...

    Goodbye old friend

I get it. I sold my old ZJ this past summer, it was my car from high school. And was quite used even then. It was a great car for me, but I was having to band aid too many things. It also only had one airbag (probably powder by now) and wasn't the safest for the family. Luckily, I saw it the...

Does it bother you when people call your RAM a Dodge?

Dodge Bros have a good history (give or take a few bad years and vehicles, looking at you Caliber). I don't mind.

What DON'T you like about your RAM?

Super cheap carpet, my daughters hair sticks to it like Velcro. My 90's era ZJ had way better carpet. The plastic is a little cheap (the edges are raised and you can still see where it came out of the mold). This especially true, even of the steering wheel pieces.

Those with 2019 BigHorns, post them up.

I think I know why I like the 5th gen. They look like a beefier Tacoma from the side. Not a bad thing. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk

low beam lights on a 2015 ram 1500.

I hope it is only a bulb or fuse. I had a some issues with the PCM giving me headlight issues on another Dodge product. I traded it in since replacing the whole PCM was the only option. Bulbs are not too expensive and then fuses. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk

Which model/options would you buy now for best resale value in 5 years?

I would say it depends on the area. Right now, it seems that blacked out (less chrome), with a lift/level and 35+ tires will have the best resale, especially if it is a 2500 with a Cummins. In general, I find that having a more luxurious truck does not always help you keep resale. Sent from...
