The verdict is in...After a little over a year of chasing this ghost, a solution was finally derived. The shop owner suspected the fuel pump after his initial diagnostics and sluggish acceleration during a road test. While the truck was more responsive with a new MOPAR fuel pump, the "hard"...
Looks like I’ll need a wiring schematic. Should be able to find one online. I agree signal voltage should be checked.

I replaced the starter motor this past December but did not replace any cables. I did remove ground cable attached to block near starter, and used Emory cloth to clean surface. Reinstalled ground with some dielectric grease. In fact, I checked all grounds in engine bay. Loosed and re-tightened...
Driving within the hour. It will crank slowly as if the battery is weak, which is not case. When resume starting, it will crank easier but struggles lacking fuel or spark? If I step a little on pedal, it starts right away.

At cold start, there is no hesitation. Fires right up. Once it sits for about 30-60 minutes after initial drive, it slowly cranks. It will then process to turn over quickly and not start.
I decided to install new oem champion plugs and started to run 89 octane fuel. Once again no change in hard starting. Since my last post, I took it to a shop which specializes in trouble shooting problems like mine. They determined that the fuel pump which was drawing 9 amps vs 6. Replaced fuel...
Just installed mopar starter about 6 months ago. Shortly thereafter, it was doing the same thing. I don’t have a heat shield though the truck never had one.

battery
throttle body
crank sensor
Starter
IAT sensor
Egr valve...
