DRIVE SHAFT TWISTED SNAPPED IN HALF

I agree with rzr6-4, that shaft doesn't look like it twisted off. So either the front fell out because it was too short, or someone forgot to attach the rear U-joint properly. It looks, based on the pic, that it hit front first and got wedged into a pretzel which makes me lean towards it being...

    Running Boards

My wife needs the running boards to get in and out. I have the nerf style with rough rubber pieces on top where you place your feet when climbing in and out. Never had a slip yet. But yeah, if you're really concerned, go with flat, cosmetics be damned.

    New grill 1 vs 2

The color matched grill looks like a woman's truck. The black looks macho. Oh sh*t, you already painted it.

Long crank times after setting all night.

If you really suspect the grid heater they are a relatively cheap and easy fix. I'd go with that and also get or borrow a pressure gauge and test the fuel pressure at the rear of the filter. My old girl has over 250K on it and really doesn't like anything below 40°F either. Good luck

Best Ram to tow with year model and why

Do you have a year range in mind? I love my 2005 3500 dually w/Cummins and feel confident towing anything with it. Only recall has been the air bags that I'm aware of.

    03 dodge ram 3500 issue

Just doing a quick Google search, it appears that you've got some wiring/fuses/sensors issues. It's recommended that you start by checking all fuses and relays, especially relating to the fan. The ECM (engine control module) is getting mixed signals on temperature related items. I hate...

Alloy or Steel Wheels for Workhorse?

I would go for it. There's a reason big rigs have all but gone to alloy. Those will look good on your truck.

    Fuel Rail Pressure sensor

A guy on Utube did just that, but my memory isn't the best anymore but I think it screwed up the idle causing it to surge and die. You might want to do a quick search on utube. There are a lot of good postings involving our Cummins.

    Rearview Mirror

There are a million different mfg's out there with every option imaginable. Some, like the Wolfbox offer GPS, voice controls, touch screen and the list goes on. I went with Xgody because I got one of their GPS units about 5 years ago and it's still working great. Plus they offered a 10" that is...

    Rearview Mirror

I upgraded mine with a camera system. I love it. I wired it to work with the truck's ignition and tucked all the wires up and out of sight. Mounted the BU camera in the rear window so I can see the hitch in the bed. Much better than just a regular old mirror. HTH

2004 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 keeps breaking front drive shaft

I have only broken 2 front driveshafts in my entire life. One when I was attempting to pull a huge log up the side of a mountain in reverse. The front tires had all the traction and the rear literally lifted up until the front driveline snapped. The only other time was when my brother borrowed...

    At a loss.......literally

There's a valve that resembles a Schrader tire valve on the back of the fuel filter housing. With the right fitting it takes less than 5 minutes to check your lift pump pressure. Dodge says you should have 5 PSI minimum. After market liftpumps are usually pushing 15-20 PSI. If it's low, your...

Upgrading 2500 5.9l rear axle to dually?

And air bags. I'm sure there's a lot more to it than just wheels. IE-brakes, etc. I'm just guessing from looking under a couple of 450's. They're an entirely different animal from the 1 ton (3500). Throwing on some dualies and fenders would be a whole lot easier if your just looking to stabilize...

Looking for some recommendations for front end parts for my 03 3500.

Welcome to the forums. I can't help you on the parts question, but I can tell you that the fuel savings going to unlocking front hubs isn't worth the cost of converting them. Good luck with your project.

    At a loss.......literally

My first thought was turbo because of the altitude, but if there is no black coal pouring out the pipe, then it's definitely not getting enough fuel. I would assume that you have a problem with power at all altitudes if it's not the turbo. Sorry I can't just tell you what it is. Good luck

    Tps sticky

I don't have the 5.7 gas, I have the 5.9 Cummins diesel, but I experienced the same thing you did. When I backed off the throttle it was very slow to return to idle. Then it stopped returning to idle altogether. Not good for brakes or tranny. Fortunately, I was able to slip my foot behind the...

Has anyone performed an engine relocation?

Back in the 70's I had a friend that put a V8 in the bed of a Chev Luv PU so I know it can be done. But why? He had access to his dad's weld shop where they built stock cars and did body work. I would go with the sand idea.

    Rear door locks

Common cause is the wiring that goes into the door from the pillar post. Could be only 1 wire broken or it could be more. I had same problem when I first got my truck (used) and I ended up splicing a bunch of wires and putting new flexible conduit over them. No problems since. The wires break...

    Looking to buy interior mirror

I replaced mine even though it didn't need doing with a mirror/dashcam and hardwired it in along with a backup camera. You probably already have this based on the year of your rig, but it works great for me and thought I would share the idea.

    Sheered off lugs while driving

I agree. So long as the nuts are never over torqued they shouldn't stretch. But how do you know they haven't been over torqued at some point if you don't know how or can't measure the stretch? I had an idiot over torque a stud on my coach because he didn't realize the left side of the coach were...
