    Thermostat housing replacement

No offence taken :D If I had more time, I would have done it. I caved and took it my guy.

    Thermostat housing replacement

So I sprung a pin hole leak on the thermostat housing.....of course one month after the warranty expires. The question I have is do you need to drain the coolant just to change out the housing? I understand that there could be some residual coolant in the top hose. Or maybe at least drain some...

    Engine knock during accel

For while I was trying to be cheap and run the 87 octane but in the summer time, I would get engine knock on acceleration. I finally gave in since then and put in the recommended 89 octane. It made a difference, but still getting some knocking on acceleration once the engine has warmed up. It...

    GPS not showing correct position

Has anyone run into an issue where the GPS doesn't show your correct location? I've been having on and off issues where the GPS shows me on some random road far, far away. In some cases it shows me sort of in the correct area but it looks like I'm driving across the roads, through people's...

Shake, rattle and roll at highway speeds

I have been having issues with the truck shaking/shuddering at highways speeds. First thought was an out of balance tire and most likely one of the rear tires since I wasn't feeling it in the steering wheel. I got the tires rebalanced and the truck drives a lot smoother now, but the issue is...

Redline High Performance vs Professional Series

Thanks for all the discussions. I didn't even know about HPL until this post. After pricing out HPL and AMSOIL, there really wasn't a significant price difference to make me switch so I just needed to face reality and pay the $$. I'm a little **** and maybe I'm worrying too much for nothing...

Redline High Performance vs Professional Series

So, it's time for me to perform another oil change and I've been using the RL High Performance oil to date. Since my last oil change, the price has jumped to $16 a quart on the high performance. It was around $11 last time. The only thing I can remember from the past is that I switched to RL...

Connection between coolant leak and hemi tick (exhaust manifold)

So, I've been procrastinating in getting the exhaust manifold fixed to resolve that flavor of the hemi tick. Now, I've developed a coolant leak that looks to be coming from the left rear corner of the engine. Based on where I see the wet spot, I feel that this could be a head gasket thing...

    Brake Upgrade

It's time for me to replace my brakes and rotors since I bought the truck back in 2020. I tow about 7000# and I am wondering if it's worth upgrading to something like the Power Stop Z36 rotors and pads? I only tow during the typical boat season and it's only about an hour or so each way mostly...

Going with larger tire on stock rims

Thanks for the info guys. I did some research but for the tires available in the larger size, they were a little out of my price range for now. I ended up getting the stock size and even that price was hard to swallow. The last time I bought tire was pre-covid and they were for a Durango...

Going with larger tire on stock rims

I have the stock 20" rims using 275/60R20. I'm curious to know if anyone has ever gone with a wider tire but maintain overall outer circumference close to the stock tire size. I guess I'm looking to get a slightly wider tire to have a little more rubber gripping the road. Feel free to poke at...

    Hemi tick repair

Reading all these responses, I'm now tempted to call other dealers in the area to see what they do for this repair.

Advice for towing car with a 5.7/3.92

I did this setup once. Durango V6 pulling a Buick Century on the car hauler. Granted it was only a 3 hour drive.

    Hemi tick repair

Not to diverge, if the fix is to just put new bolts on, can this issue happen again or are the new bolts a different material where they won't snap again?

Advice for towing car with a 5.7/3.92

You should be fine. I have the same setup and just towed from Philly to upstate NY pulling 7000# and the family. Did no more than 65 and all was good. NC to Philly is fairly flat if you stick to I-95. Just take your time. It's not a race.

    Hemi tick repair

I guess one possibility is that they are following some "standard repair procedure" guide or as was mentioned, they don't want to accidentally drill in the water/oil passaged. I have the truck back for now as they have to order parts and then drop the truck back off again. If it wasn't for the...

    Hemi tick repair

Sorry for another one of these posts, but just want to run this by everyone. I do have the exhaust manifold flavor of the tick. The dealer at first said it would be a roughly $2k job but luckily I got 7yrs warranty because of the truck being a certified pre-owned....just surprised that didn't...

Goodyear Wrangler SR-A vs Territory HT vs Trailrunner AT

Looking for opinions on the SR-A vs Territory HT? I see the one big difference is the treadwear (500 vs 680). Also, anyone use the Trailrunner AT's? Looking for something with a little more off-road ability rather than all-season. Are the AT's noisier than all-seasons? I've used the...

    V-6 3:55 RV thoughts

I would keep an eye on tongue weight. I have a 5.7 with the 3.92 gears and pull a boat with 500# of tongue weight. With 500# and the family in the truck, I'm awfully close to GVWR to where I should really get a 2500. Also, I used to tow a 5000# boat with a Durango with the V6 (6300# capacity)...

Would you pay monthly for certain features

I can see paying for a service via an app because of all the infrastructure behind the scenes to allow your phone to connect to the car. But for things like heated seats, adaptive cruise control....heck no. You already pay to have those options installed in you car and now you pay to use...
