I came home the other day, parked my truck, next day started it and it ran on 5 cyls. 1, 2, & 4 and died. Got misfire codes, but the plugs and coils fire fine. Pulled a cusrsory pressure check on the dead holes and couldn't get any pressure with a couple of cranks. No moisture, foam or condensation on the filler cap. It has 155k miles, oil changes between 2-2.5k always. It has dropped some mpg down to about 13.9, but other than that runs fine. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I don't think its one of the HO 4.7s. The flat rate manual says 13.5 hrs for head gaskets, 19 hrs to R/R. I got a quote of 4700 for a crate from Dodge, and I see Jaspers and a couple of other long block rebuilds for 2400-3000. The truck is not a cream puff, it's a dirt road. mountain country truck. I'm looking for input, especially from any Mopar mechanics or experts.

Give me you opinions on options please.

Bob
