Hello, first time poster.

I bought a very low trim model 07 1500.
3.7 v6 auto no cruise, manual window, short bed single cab basic as it gets. The engine was shot so I tried another I had out of a liberty and it was even worse. So I did the next best thing. Bought a 06 wrecked 1500 with a 5.7. From my years of tinkering I know I can do the swap with ease considering I have the complete running donor truck. I'll be utilizing the eminities that came with the upper trim truck. Cruise, ac, adjustable pedals, and whatever else. Only grey area is I don't know exactly how much of the v6 truck harness I can use. If anyone has any pointers I'd be happy to hear.

I'd say, none of it. You'll have to use everything from the '06 into the '07, and to be honest it may be more work than what it is worth.

Since I created the post I've actually completed the swap. Runs and drives well so far

In 12 days? That's pretty badass.

Post pics! Give some details! What all did you have to swap and what was you able to keep from the V6 truck?

Post a video of it running!

I've been thinking of doing the same thing to my truck. Any advice or input would be appreciated.

Buy a wrecked parts truck of the same year and get to swapping everything. I'm not sure what was compatible from the v6 to v8 truck. So I just swapped everything down to the last wire. Had a driveshaft cut for it and changed all the fluids. Made a custom exhaust just till I get to a muffler shop to have some made. I used the entire dash, heater box, rear end, headlights (06 parts truck had different headlights than 07), added the overhead display from the parts truck. Taillights also had to be changed. Due to the 1 year difference. There was absolutely no cutting or welding besides the exhaust. Then engine mounts and transmission mounts all line up. The truck in the pic was a base model with no cruise, hand crank windows, minimal gauges. It now has all the features from a Laramie truck.
