Hey guys Im looking to get ahold of some quotes on puchasing another bed for my 08 Ram. I have a huge dent in the left rear panel as well as some rust on the fender wells. Body shop wants $2500 to replace the panel so I was thinking replacing the bed all together may actually be cheaper. Any suggestions on where I can find one? Brilliant Black is the paint color.

It should be cheaper depending on what you can find. Checking your local Junkyards is the best option. Otherwise your gonna need to find a cheap parts truck, which being a later model, the only ones your gonna find for cheap, sub $2K, are probably gonna be wrecked, in which case the box may be a little tweaked already. Not sure if you'd wanna go that route, I wouldn't. Id scour all the local yards. You might just get lucky. Truck beds can go from $250 up to $1500 here, depending on model and condition.

The only issue I see with a used bed is the common problem with rust over the wheels. You may find one that isn't rusted but may pop thru at any time. If you do look for a used one try Craigslist as well.

Problem with that is the labor and paint. That adds up quick.

even the black is likely to fade different on every truck. my guess is you will need to repaint no matter what. good thing about just replacing the bedside is you can spray it to match as close as you can get and only have one part of the bed off a little instead of the entire bed, or do it temporary until you can repaint the entire thing. just my .02
