Recently bought a new 2024 Longhorn 1500 to replace my 2013 Longhorn 1500. The new truck sticker says it has a 125L fuel tank which i thought was a nice upgrade from the smaller 90L tank in my 2013. First off, I've filled up twice now and only pumped about 103L into it and the low fuel light had just come on. Secondly, I'm averaging 12.8L per 100km and projecting 850km distance once filled, which seems like a low projection. Thirdly, I'm confused because I'm getting better milage with the new truck but going roughly the same distance as my old and I'm driving the same routes and distances. I get there is a break in time with the new truck but if i was getting around 800km on my old 90L tank then should i not be going roughly 1000km ish with a 125L tank?

The fuel gauges and km to empty are deceiving. When the light comes on you still have about 22 liters.
Personally this bothered me since I'm constantly figuring in my head fuel range, so I recalibrated the BCM.
There are alot of threads on the subject, but they're not in metric talk. ;)
