I have a brand new 5.7L hemi v8 which I bought recently to replace the old one which had bad hemi tick. I've recently replaced the fuel pump and am still having trouble starting up the engine and with fuel pressure when driving with it sometimes having a bad lag before it'll accelerate whenever i put my food down. The tank sometimes will also hum a bit when the truck is off (which might just be the evap system but i'm not 100% sure) I was told it's possible the fuel lines need replacing but I was wondering if I could get a second opinion on what to do and if it might be the starter motor that needs replacing. The engine will eventually start after I prime it a few times but it just takes a while and once it's started it'll turn over fine no problem it's just the inital start of it after leaving it for a while.

Is the fuel pump OEM Mopar, or aftermarket?

You said "still having trouble with fuel pressure". What does this mean?

Without clarification, am I safe to assume that this means you have connected a fuel pressure gauge, and while driving and monitoring the fuel pressure, can see on the gauge that it is dropping below the minimum prescribed value for fuel pressure?

Because if this is the case, it would seem that your issues cause and the appropriate fix are both already known.

That video kinda sounds like the ******** guy that's always sitting in the seat in front of me at the movie theater. Slurping through the straw on an empty cup of ice.

Yea, that sounds like further verification that something in/on your fuel pump is ****** up like polio.

Your going to have to inspect that real good, maybe drop the tank and inspect the pump. It sounds like there's a hose damaged or disconnected at the pump assembly, or something is broken.

You may need one of these:

I bought the truck recently and I was "told" the injectors are new. When testing them all of them seemed fine besides possibly number 5 but the mechanic I took it to said it was alright. I was thinking it might be a vacuum leak which might possibly explain the rough idle and stalling while driving? Correct me if Im wrong

I just put the pump in around 5-6 days ago. I noticed some of the clips were bad but I'm not sure if it's worth pulling the pump out again.do you know an easier way to diagnose it without pulling the whole thing out again?

You never answered the questions above.

You can't guess through a diagnosis. Guessing is correct less often than a coin toss. You have to test these systems to rule them out as problems.

What clips?

Of course I know of easier ways to diagnose without pulling it out again. I mentioned it in the post I quoted above. Test it, with a gauge. Like this one on Amazon.

connect a fuel pressure gauge, start the truck, and take a reading. Rev the engine a little, and see if the fuel pressure drops when you rev it.

(Earlier, when you said you have "low fuel pressure", I took this to mean that you tested it, with a gauge.. otherwise, it's impossible for you to know this).

Most of these trucks do have a fuel pressure sensor that gives the PCM fuel pressure data, but if I remember right, the PCM doesn't allow scan tools to access that PID. So, you have to connect a gauge.
