$139 Side Steps: INSTALL and REVIEW

So I purchased some side steps for my 2011 Quadcab. Bought them on Ebay from TruckGearDirect. They call them Hunter 4x4 steps out of Texas but China was on the box upon arrival..?..? So $139 shipped in 3 business days. Alluminum and “powder coated” which I think is more of a thick black low gloss paint….but looks good. Plastic end caps to keep out dirt and custom fit brackets so no drilling was required. They come in polished too for a few bucks more. Overall I give the installation a 8/10, quality a 7/10, price-to-value a 7/10. FORGIVE THE MESSY DIRT AND GARAGE:i_rolleyes:

Directions
(They say to use 4 brackets per side, but I only found 3 areas and 3 seems enough):


Remove tape in 3 spots per side:



Insert welded bracket:


Install Brackets:




Install (2) bolts per bracket:


Tighten all bolts and then give them a good stepping on and then re-tighten.

i was seriously considering these bars vs the ones i ordered on ebay... how ever i could not find ebay link again to order these so i ordered the other ones... these ones are vary vary sharp i really like them, and if for some reason the ones i ordered just dont work for me then i am going to get these ones

Side Steps

Man do these side steps look great on your Ram. Could you tell me what is the length of your side steps? I have a Crew cab, and they don't sell these side steps for my cab style. So maybe I can buy your size of steps and center them, (a little less up front and back towards rear doors), so to fit on my cab. THX

From the way these mount they look like they could possibly work for you as long as the rear mounting holes are not too far back

Do all 4 gen step bars use just the body mounts?? Both my 3rd gen trucks had steps that used the body/frame mounts. I'd be a little worried about the long term durability of the steps using only the body..
