Based on everything I'm finding online, the biggest tire for the stock 20" wheel is 275/60R20... however, I just got off the phone with a guy over at discount tire and he's saying a 285/60R20 will fit.

What do y'all think?

275/60r20 is like a 33x10 right?

And a 285/60r20 is about 33x11.5?

Both will fit.

I think a safe rule for 20x8 is that you don’t wanna go wider than 11.5 for tire width................and the height will be limited by how much lift you have.

If you have a 6” lift you could run up to 37x11.5 (even though that might be a real skinny looking tire).

What’s your suspension setup?

Depending on how high you go with your level kit you could run 35x11.5 tires or smaller.

How high are you planning on going?

sorry... i'm no expert on this. isn't a leveling kit just that. raises the front to match the back? i hadn't really planned on lifting it. i'm not into big lifts... just want something to get it about as high as a 2500 i guess. suggestions?

285 will be slightly taller.
1st number is height from rim to tread.
2nd number is width.
3rd number is diameter.

1st number is height from rim to tread.
2nd number is width.
3rd number is diameter.
1st number (285) is width in MM
2nd number (60) is profile (height) by % - the sidewall is 60% the width of the tire
3rd number is rim diameter.

Why then is a 55 or 60 wider than a 70 or 75?
And shorter from rim to tread?
A 275 is tall & skinny.
A 255 is shorter & wider.
Rim diameter notwithstanding.

Wrong.

the first/bigger number is the width. The second/smaller number is the aspect ratio which will tell you height. And obviously the last number is the rim size.

What 20" rims are we talking about? The factory 20" Sport style rims are 9" wide and will easily handle up to a 305 tire.

You're right, but to the average guy a shorter 255/50 will look wider then a 275/75.But that's a deceptive look, and to a lot of people the 255/50 will appear wider even though it isn't,lol
