Looking at the website for Maxtrac, and the 4.5" spindle lift says that you need at least a 17" wheel, with a maximum 5.5" backspacing.
Now, I have the cheap stock 17's that came on the Tradesman model trucks, and I'm not looking to dump $3k+ at once in the lift/tires/wheels. So I was hoping to stay with the stick wheels the first time around (I like meaty tires on 17's anyways versus 20's). I haven't checked it myself, but I swear that I saw the stock 17's have a 5.5" back spacing...which SHOULD work with the spindle lift...right?
Has anyone pulled this off with the stock 17's? Or does everyone have the stock 20's or buy new wheels when they get their new lift on?
