First real trip!! Central Virginia to Hilton Head Island, SC. and back...

Leaving Virginia, up & Down the "hills" was averaging 22.5 mpg @ 65-mph, till I got to Interstate 95 (75+mph) then dropped to 19 and change!

Same on the return trip, although the GPS took us on some single-lane roads at 55 - 60 mph where I averaged 22.6mpg, again till I hit the Interstate and fell to 19+.

I traded in a 2012 Tacoma on this Ram!

I am "well pleased" at the "mpg", improved comfort and the EXTRA interior room! Also the Red-Ram got a great deal of attention at Hilton Head :party36:

what rear ratio do you have 3.21 or 3.55?

I have a reg cab 4x4 3.6l 2013 with 3.21 gears, I drive 80 mph each day for about 40 miles along with some city driving and I have averaged 21 mpg (mixed city and hiway) since I bought it a month ago. I get 24mpg highway only . I now have 1300 miles on it.

Very nice!! I was at 18.5 mpgs but recently have dropped down to under 15. Ugh. Hopefully it'll get back up around 18 once I do more highway driving though.

That sounds like an awesome trip though. In about a month I'm making the drive from MD to North Carolina to go lay on a beach for 2 weeks. I know that's a nice drive at least from here to NC. Hopefully you had a good trip!!

I can get close to 23mpg, if I hold her around 55mph, however, Interstate speeds drop her to 17 and change (expected)!

At present, I am satisfied with my gas mileage, albeit, a 6-cyl.. However, the 6 with the 8-spd tranny is a perfect match for my use.

Oh, the 6 with the 8-spd tranny performs "well" in Virginia's mountains :angels25:
