Hopefully a tuner will help but not impressed with the torque management system. So we had about 2' of snow yesterday. I knew my driveway hadn't been touched all day. (getting into my driveway you have to make a hard left and have a ditch on both sides) So I go to pull in, put it in 4wd and hope for the best. Make it about 25' in (driveway has about a 25-30° incline) get stuck. So I drop the hammer and it just bogs down. Back up try it again same thing. Put it in 4 low, doesn't help, better rpm's and wheel spin. So drop it back in 4 hi and get as far back as I can and make it about half way and bog down again. Last try and finally make it in. Little pissed that it bogged down so fast. My truck has some mods Volant cai, mufflex exhaust, rcx 2.5/1.75 285 Goodyear duratracs. I think ram needs to spend less time finding ways to hold back the hemi and drop in a drive train that can handle it

Could it be traction control? I think you're supposed to turn it off in the snow.

The traction control light never flashed. I had it at wot and nothing. Just bogged down. While driving in 4wd no problems just when stuck.

Well it all depends on whats underneath it. If it melted in any way, then froze, you might have ice underneath. If that is the case, no 4x4 will be able to drive on ice, especially on a incline.

No ice, just a lot of snow to get through. Just a little pissed that it was bogging down.

All I want to be able to do is spin my tires so I know I'm stuck.

Well thankfully you have Duratracs. I'm puzzled what you mean by bog. When your stuck you should spin out even in four. Only way you should be stuck is if you get Hung-Up on packed snow. I'm a 3rd gen with Auburn and Duratracs so never been stuck (hung up). By the sounds of it the Traction Control needs to be turned off if you want them to smoke. I also take my od off for better punch. Once again luckily you have awesome tires for the conditions. Find a ditch or try it again with that TC off and give Her. Danny

I also think you need to turn traction control off.
I don't buy that the engine is boggin out on its own.

Like the others have said, I think the problem you had was with traction control. Next time turn it off and see how the truck responds.

But you gotta be a little carful because it shuts off the abs but I haven't had any problems at all.. Just drive safe and give time to slow down when you need it!

This is my 1st truck with traction control so it's a learning experience. I was able to get stuck with traction control on again to day, turned off the traction control and it worked a lot better. I know when I loose traction in 2wd I can feel it kick in, I guess I was expecting the same thing to happen

25*-30* is like 45-55% grade which is pretty steep to start

In my experience more power and more torque especially with dropping the hammer just gets you stuck faster

Usually does. But with a 3 1/2' high snow bank to have to try and plow through I needed a good head of steam

I have been watching this thread and got the chance to try the TC on my truck this week, and this is what I found- the manual recommends turning of the TC when in 4 wheel. I had mine on and went through snow resulting in alot noise from under the dash and truck, real sluggish. Also when I was in 2 wheel the limited slip didn't work either, again sluggish. Then I turned off the TC and hit the same terrain, a night day difference, good power and no issues, even in 2 wheel. I did notice going from 2 to 4 the TC reset itself to on, I had to turn off each time, no problems from then on. I appreciate the thread it gave me the opportunity to learn more about my truck, thanks. :happy107:

This is the first time I really had to use 4wd in a situation where I was struck so it was a great learning experience.
