So I decided that my black truck looked too much like everyone else's, so I decided to change that. I was thinking about a two-tone look, but didn't want to end up the look of a laramie or outdoorsman. So for $150, I ordered some vinyl wrap and got to work.

I'd like to do more with it, but not sure to do.

In thinking something like this for the hood (gray in the center with a red border):

Also, I'm open to suggestions that might look good to compliment the look. Right now I'm thinking maybe gray color matched fender flares and maybe a projector headlight upgrade. Otherwise, what does everyone think? Always happy to hear feedback!

Looks great!!!! I think the hood treatment would be a nice touch too.

Can’t tell if your truck is dark blue or black. Either way, you’re scheme looks very similar to my 2003 F-150. It was navy blue/grey two tone with a red stripe between. I really liked the look on the Ford and think it looks great on yours!

Thanks! The truck is a metallic black with a nice layer of dust on it at the moment. I'll have to give it a bath and wrap the hood/ tailgate and post some better pictures.

Well done, it looks like you did a fantastic job and at an incredible price. I personally wouldn't pick that color scheme, but it's not for me and sounds like you accomplished your goal, so again, well dons. I think any sort of fender flares would break up your lines and look awkward unless you continued the lines on the flares, which I think would also look awkward. Also think doing the hood to match would be a good move.

Projectors are always good. If you're looking for more vinyl, you could remove the horizontal portion on the back of the bed after the wheel and do a vertical section that matches. Probably not the best idea the more I think of it, but just a thought for something different.

Got the tailgate wrapped this evening, I think it turned out alright:

I didn't want to keep the everything in line with the sides because I think it might look a little weird having less than an inch of gray before the tailgate ends.

I think it looks great. I too would do the hood bulge and then get rid off all the badging (except for maybe the ram head on the tailgate). Just my .02

Very sharp man! How long will vinyl like this realistically hold up?

A+ on the tailgate, I really like the way you raised it up slightly. Really original idea, and makes your truck stand out from the crowd.

The rear looks nice. If you add the flares I would run the red around the flares. Ties it together with the rear.

I haven't had anything that was wrapped for long enough to do real world observation, but the generally accepted lifespan is 5-7 years with proper care. The upside is that if I ever get tired of it, it fades, or if it gets damaged, I can heat it up and pull it off and replace if needed.

I thought about it. I'm thinking I'll do those when I save up for some new wheels. Then I'll debadge it and wrap the chrome door handles in gray to totally remove the chrome, but for now, I like how the wheels and bumpers tie together.
