Hi, folks! Got a question that I can't find the answer to so thought maybe y'all could help me out....

I just picked up a near-mint condition 5'x8' trailer with ramp. It's a 2000 US Cargo. Near as I can tell, the only thing missing is a way to secure the ramp in a vertical position. I have had no luck finding information online about how it was originally equipped - likely due to the age - so I don't know if it had springs or hinge brackets or what? There are mounting posts for something on both sides of the ramp and the deck (see pictures). I just don't know what went on them.

Help? Thanks a bunch!

Flat deck trailers like that commonly use a piece of flat bar with a hole in each end. Used with a pin on the side of the gate and the side of the frame to triangulate and hold it upright.

Annnd...facepalm. Now that you stated that, I can see it clearly in my head. Rather than try to order something, I'll just grab some flat stock from Lowe's and craft my own tomorrow. Huge thanks for jogging my rusty head!

Grabbed two 36" lengths of flat stock steel at Lowe's this morning. Cut them to size, drilled the holes, painted and clear coated, and popped them on. They're perfect and look great. Thanks again for steering me in the right direction! About $15 total investment for what the trailer dealer wants $40 each.
