2001 3500 Cummins 47RE Trans - Sticks in First

Hello, owned truck 18 months, trans has stuck in 1st about 10 times, sometimes only last for a few seconds and a shift to park and back it will go back to shifting properly, on one event about 2 months ago took hours and many restarts before it starting shifting correctly. I replaced the electronics myself (purchased a kit from Oregon Performance Transmissions). Pretty easy install for a novice. Same problem, has happened 3 times since repair. Added aftermarket transmission fix products, no change. No check engine light, but had the codes checked anyway by local trans shop, local trans shop cant/wont help with no codes and the fact that its shifting perfectly. Can not determine a pattern for when it will happen. Any help would be great, Thanks in advance, Kevin

if you put in trans fix in a bottle, drain it immediately and fill back up with the correct level of atf +4, trans fix can wreck transmissions.

Sounds like you could need an adjustment to your 1st gear band. google 47re band adjustment. That should fix your issue.
