Just 1 month ago my daughter bought a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 in L.A. It started giving her trouble just 200 miles down the I5. Our mechanic up here said it's only a matter of time before it's dead. Well just the other day she threw a rod and now as the mechanic said we're F'd.

He said the best option would be to part it out. Any suggestions on that process?
We are in Northern California. It's got some really nice wheels and tires on it which seem like they'd be the most value item on the truck.

If it is a California truck
It should be pretty much RUST FREE

Take pix from every angle
First advertise the whole truck, blown engine, for a couple of weeks

Then advertise parting out the truck
That tailgate & complete bed are worth a good amount
The same for the cab, & complete front end sheet metal
