I had just gotton this truck a little over 2 months ago, and im wondering that if i took out the utility fold out things under the back seat out, would i be able to fit a regular size sub back there? Or would i need a shallow mound? Im wondering because if i need shallows im not getting subs, but if i can fit a normal sub in there id do it, and thought id just ask if anyone has done it?? Thanks!!

When I had mine put in my '07, the shop told me it's best to use shallow mount because of the airspace. They had some that would have fit in the box, but they didn't recommend it. I'm happy with the ones I bought.

According to the Fox Boxes you can fit:

for 12"
ALPINE TYPE R, SWR 1223 or SWR 1243
JL Audio 12w6 v2
Punch P3 "full size"
Kicker CVX 12

and for 10"
ALPINE TYPE R 10 INCH
JL Audio 10w6 v2
Punch P3 "full size"
Kicker CVX 10

Those are all Full-Size speakers but their boxes are also built for those subs specs.

Good Luck

Why are you so against shallow mounts?

Ya, why are you so against shallow mounts?? I have 2 10" shallow pioneers under my back seat and they poundddddd.... Hard. I think regular subs won't have enough room or airspace to even sound good under a back seat. Just my two cents.

Im not exactly against, them but the last pair i had (Shallow Alpine-S's) and i wasnt too satisfied with them. Plus they where about 50$ more each other then the ones i wanted.
but like i said not exactly against, just wondering if normal subs would fit. Prican2000, can you send me a link to those boxes by chance?

Well shallows are for depth restricted boxes, so sure, when you can fit a regular sized depth woofer, by all means, but it still woudlnt do any good if that normal depth woofer is in less than reccomended sized box.

When I had my stuff put in my last truck, I was home on leave from Iraq so I had extra money and little time. I basically went in the shop and gave them a blank check, as long as it would fit under the back seat and sound good. They told me shallow 10s are the best for these trucks. That could just be because of the airspace of the boxes they had. Just check the requirements of the sub you want against the airspace of the box. I think it was mentioned on this thread, maybe a different, to not forget to subtract the space that the sub will take up, too.

Yes Sir, see link below:

DODGE

I will eventually get one of these boxes - I've heard nothing but good things about them.

Alright, thanks man!! The box says it would fit Alpine type R 1243d which is the kind i was looking at, so that's convenient.

On this same subject, about to get my Fox Box. I have a 12in JL w6. Question is Vented or not and drivers side or passenger side? I kinda want to keep the racks that fold out in the back is it possible to keep those with the fox box?
