I have an 09 Ram 1500 5.7 with 168k on it, battery less than a year old. Have had hesitating starts lately, and the other night it was a slow crank, like the battery was dead. (smelled something electrical) Tried a jump, no difference. tried it again a bit later, this time in neutral, and it started right up. Next day, got some codes off it- p0340 and p0335. cam shaft sensor and crank. I replaced the crank position sensor, as i was told it was more common. still had a rough start. went to napa and got a rebuilt starter, started right up, better than before. that was 2 days ago. went out today, made one stop, started back up fine. made another stop, and when i went to start it, it barely turned. turned the key again, nothing but a click. only codes i get are misfires, which i've had for over a year. tried jumping, nothing different. just a single click. noticed that when i turn the key on, the check engine light is on, then it blinks 10 or 11 times. i'm guessing i should check the nut holding the cable to the starter, but in the middle of a blizzard right now. anyone have this problem, or know what it could be?

Could be a faulty starter. Still have the electrical smell? Also seeing that your in a blizzard, the weather could be making a small issue worse. I would start at the starter since you replaced it and it worked fine at first. Check the solenoid. Also if you have an auto zone nearby or a tool yourself have the system checked. Have you replaced your coils and plugs? Just throwing out a few ideas.

Check the connection at both ends of battery cables. Sometimes the ground can be loose.
