2010 ram 5.7 4x4, no start

No start. Only cranks. No fuel pressure.
Replaced timp and still no power to fuel pump, replaced fuel pump and i discovered.

When fuel pump connector is not plugged in to the fuel pump. It gets 9v with key on,

But when it is connected, it says 0v.

Any help is appreciated.

is it a new tipm or used tipm ?you put in? did you try the tipm bypass just to see if you get the correct power

Yes new tipm.

Yes bypassing the tipm and giving 12v directly to the pump it works, but if i try to start it. It doesnt start.

Isn't there a fuse between the FP relay and pump ?
What's happening there ?
What about a connector between the fuse and fuel pump ?

The strange thing is that when disconnected , fuel pump connector reads 9v when key is on, but when its connected to the pump it reads 0v

Voltage drop to 9 when it should be 12, and the fact that it drops out under load are both indicators of high resistance in the circuit. A bad connection.

You should inspect the wiring and connectors. Look for a loose pin inside a connector or torn/smashed/corroded or frayed wires.

Either have a helper crawl under and listen to the fuel pump, or use a test light to load the circuit while wiggling wires systematically, from front to back or vice versa. Look at a wiring diagram to figure out where all the connectors are along the fuel pump circuit, and wiggle them all.



If that fails, use a test light and multimeter, start probing wires/connectors from the front of the truck to the back. You'll typically find that it's 12v at the TIPM, then at some point working your way rearward the circuit will start reading 9v with the multimeter and dropping out with the test light.

When you find the spot where it changes, you'll have a good idea where the problem is.
