Hi New member here with question why did our 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 CTD have an anti sway bar but our "new" 2011 Ram 6.7 crew cab does not?

could be removed by the previous owner. I believe all rams come with front/rear sway bars.

some cowboys remove it for a "smoother" straight line/off road ride.

I do not believe ANY 2011 Ram 2500s come with a rear anti sway bar - so why not anyone?

Short answer : Because RAM determined they are not needed.
Long attempt at an answer: 2002 and 2011 are different generations with 10 years of development in between them. Anti-roll bars (what engineers call them) reduce body roll when cornering by increasing the combined spring rate of the anti-roll bar and the actual spring, due to the anti-roll bar's resistance to twisting when one wheel travels up while the other travels down.

However with ever increasing payloads the rear springs got more progressive to increase the spring rate when loaded. Essentially they have the rate increase built in. Another aspect is that anti-roll bars increase the tendency of that axle to start drifting earlier. (Racers love adjustable anti-roll bars because it allows fairly fine tuning of the cornering balance). In case of a truck a rear anti-roll bar may make it a bit tail happy when empty if the springs are fairly progressive.
