2012 Ram 1500 ECU Swap

I am planning to do an 8 speed swap in my 2012 Ram 1500. I purchased a used 8HP70 out of a 2014 Ram 1500 and was in the process of deciding what conversion kit to use (SGA or Turbolamik), then thought it could be simpler to swap an ECU and harness from 2014 Ram that was already set up with the 8 speed. Is this feasible?

You need to HP tune it anyways, So just keep your 2012. You'll need more then the ECU. You'll also need the harness with the connectors for the dial shifter.

The 2014 ECU won't work - different communication system than the 2012's and prior.
