Matt’s 2011 went 11.99 on motor which was finally beaten by an 8 speed earlier this year, 2018. The 8 speed ran an 11.98. Took years to beat a 5/645RFE by .01 second.

Big game changer.

The 8 is a better tranny. Wish I had one. Not worth the $20,000 it would probably take for me to get a new truck. I’m done buying other people’s abused junk.

I read threads like this, and for a fleeting moment I get feeling envious. But not for long. My truck is plenty fast. And the 3.21/8 that I test drove was a let down.

Now if they brought back Forest Green.... but it would have to have 3.92 LSD.

Going down in tire size may change in a direction you wont like... if you drop tire height, this can effect ride comfort. Less sidewall to soak up the bumps. Will be harder on suspension.

Yea I don't think going from LT305/70r18 to LT295/70r18 is going to effect the ride comfort as I have more sidewall then stock Hahah

I was referring to OP when talking about going down a tire size. Might help his older truck get a bit more pep in its step. I on the other hand will be going up a tire size when the time comes.

Just need a little more pep. I went up a size on my truck too haha from 275/60r20 to LT275/65r20 . Lost about 1 mpg but have yet to calibrate the speedo.

I will say when I bought my truck it was not near as quick as it is now- it went through a long break in- I do have the 3.92 LSD and it's quick for a stock truck.

I think the game changer is for us stock guys- not modified.

That's the size I plan to get. How important is it to recalibrate speedo?

I believe it is important as it corrects the shifts points. Also goes from the 275/60 to 275/65 is a 1' inch increase in diameter. If your going 65mph on the new tires without calibration you are really going 67mph. Plus the truck's mpg will read lower than it actually is.

I'm going to have to drive another 8 speed, because my experience just doesn't match up with what I read here. The truck I drove was a RCSB. Oh Man, was it ever sharp! It was metallic black, had the 2 hood scoops, 4X4. I wanted to love it. Maybe I was expecting too much. Maybe it needed to be broken in, it had about 20 miles on it. It did have the 3.21.

The simple addition of a Petal Commander will turn a sluggish truck into much meaner machine. I think big tires are the #1 performance killer in these trucks.

2013 6 speed, 4x4, 3.55 rear, pedal commander, 275/65/20 , no speedo recalibrate.Truck runs shifts tows fine 8 speed would be great to have. The charger and challenger that we have have the 8 speed. But only have 40k miles on the truck plan on keeping it for a another 4 or 5 yrs.Not worth the $$$ for me its not my daily driver.I think the weight of the tire makes a big difference in performance. 0_n.jpg%3F_nc_cat%3D104%26_nc_ht%3Dscontent-iad3-1.png

Nice looking man!! My buddy has a 09 sport that is a similar color I believe- very sharp truck! He has 150k miles with not one issue I really regretted but my titan in 09 instead of the ram but if I remember correctly I bought my titan in February and I don’t remember seeing the new ram until later on that year.

I had a 2010 Titan and I loved that truck. Sure the mpg sucked and it needed some updating, but it ran and drove like a champ and felt like driving a smaller truck. Only reason I sold it was because I got a smokin' deal on a Ram 2500. Only took 6 months or so and I decided to sell the 2500 because I didn't need such a big truck and would have gone back to a Titan but I wanted something new and the new Titans leave a lot to be desired.

Sorry OP, didn't mean to divert from the big hog... :) Carry on!

Yep mine had LT headers high flow cats magnaflow cai and uprev so it ran good, transmission was total **** though and 110k I was worried that it was about to take a dump and it was starting to cost me 500 a month in little repairs.

Diversion over lol

Everything is good. I drove my sister's 2010 Titan awhile back and it drove fine and had power but didn't get a chance to look at the mpg. The Titan sounded like it idle really low and about to stall but never did hahah good work/farm truck just don't like the look of it hahah

Sounds like I should invest in the pedal commander before the a catback. But I want the make the truck to sound a bit meaner. I have until tomorrow to decide haha

I hear a lot of good things about the PC. I'll get one here soon, but just gotta give the wife a few months. If I say I need to spend another $300 bones on our brand new $50k truck, I might popped upside the head....

I feel you on that. I been buttering up the wife all this week. Been cooking, dropping our son at daycare, eating out, did laundry and put up the ham awhile ago. I think $400 is the limit hahah

All stock but the muffler, the 6sp I test drove would not come close to doing this.

If you want performance, keep the stock tires or stock size height at least, lighter the tire the better, I have a 14 with the “5” speed trans that I bought used, I should have bought one with the ZF trans and real 8 speed, oh well live to learn, I’m not into truck racing, much less because I have a crew cab , lol, I’m more into offroad and exploration, the tires need to be at least 35’s and have heavy nice sidewalls, so the 65RFE trans is adequate and does what I need the truck to do, besides I got lucky I did get the BW 44-45, the 44 would have ruined my day, I value offroad performance more than towing, I’m one of those weird ones :)
