Hey all, I've never had a 4x4 ram until now.
2013 ram 2500 4x4 cummins.
There is a faint whine coming from the front that sounds like a power steering pump, the whine gets louder when I'm sitting still and turn the wheel all the way so I've just always wrote it off as power steering whine.
Well I was leaving the neighborhood and there is a bumpy road on the way out - not crazy bumpy just some sinking/rising concrete, when I ran over a couple of the bumps the whining got REALLY loud for like 2 seconds and then went back to normal, I thought it was odd.
On the way home the whining would randomly "blip" louder for a fraction of a second, hit the same bumps and WHINE for a full second then back to normal.
I don't have a place to work on vehicles and I don't trust shops, this could be a cheap part that I'll get raked over the coals for but I also don't want to ignore it and end up having to do something like replace a transfer case.
Anyone have this issue?
