Hey everyone,
I recently just bought a 2013 ram 1500 outdoorsman edition and I have been hearing mixed things about lifting these trucks. I wanted to install a suspension lift kit by rough country or fab tech (or if anyone else has any suggestions please let me know) and I have heard that if the lift is over 4inches the cv's will be out of alignment and will damage them. I just want some clarification on how big of a lift will be too much? I am wanting to put 35in tires on the truck but not crazy to where it looks like I need bigger tires. Basically a good tire to wheel well ratio. Does anyone have insight on this subject? thanks!

A level kit over 3 inches is hard on the cv's. A suspension lift drops the front diff down so that everything stays in alignment. Putting a 4 inch rough country kit on my 13 express tomorrow. Also running 35/12.50's. I'll post pics after it's finished

Most suspension lifts include diff drop brackets to keep your cv angles in check so no issues. Just take a good look at kits your considering.

If you want 35s, I would do a 4" lift. That combo looks really nice together. I had 35s with my 6" lift and they looked kind of small so I got 37" tires. As for brand, I would get a Zone or BDS. If you look through the forum, you'll see that it's probably the most recommended lift. I rarely see Rough County or Fab Tech lifts on here. Also, I would recommend that you look through this forum because there are a million pictures of almost every lift/tire combination.
