Looking for input on anyone who has a 14-16 2500-3500 with a gas motor and what you used. Leveling to 8" I would like input on all. Thanks!

Running a 5" RCX with 35's (3.73 gears) on my 2014 Mega. Mine is a daily driver and have 20k trouble free miles on the lift so far.

IMO 37's would work best with 4.56 or 4.88's. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1459816402.554689.jpg

Since that pic I've added Nfab wheel to wheel 3 steps and a black diamond plate tool box.

My lift was $900, $400 install. Toyo AT2's, XD Addicts (18x9 -12) mounted, balanced, new TPMS sensors shipped to my house $2k. ... So for me @$3,300.

Looks like I need to put some extra overtime in at work. I'm looking at a bunch of different kits... I'm guessing on zone's and bds kits where they have two options. I need the one with the radius arms I'm guessing? Being I'm 4x4, just too many different things to look at. Lol

also, TWilliams has a big white one.

2robinhood (or something along those lines) is the user you're thinking of.

It's going to completely depend on what kit you want to go with and how much you want to trick it out. Same with wheels and tires. I'd suggest going to BDS's website and check out some of their kits and go through the customize the kit feature to go through the pricing exercise.

Wheels and tires you could price out online as well to at least get a rough idea but emailing companies for quotes will yield the most accurate results.

I paid $3200 taxes in for my 8" BDS long arm lift by the time I put all the upgrades and additions to it that I wanted. Did the install myself so no significant cost to me there. Then my wheels and tires (22x12 Forces and 37x13.5 Toyo MT's) were $6500 taxes in. So like I said, all depends on the exact setup you go with as prices will change drastically.

You can run either a radius arm lift or do the 4-link conversion. Whatever one floats your boat. The 4-link kits are better IMO.

The more I learn. The more my head spins. So either work. But is there a link I can read about this 4 link?

Yes, because BDS offers the correct brackets and control arms to do the swap to 4-link if you please.

Ram only changed to radius arm suspension in 2013 on the 3500's and 2014 on the 2500's. Previous to that all 3rd and 4th gen Ram 2500/3500's were 4-link. I believe most if not all of the 2nd gens were as well. So 4-link is far more common and simply a better setup for a lifted truck IMO. Radius arms are great for stock height or mild lift but once you go higher they a) look funny and b) don't articulate (flex) as well because of their design. So doing the 4-link conversion makes the truck more useful offroad if you do plan to do that at all and simply looks better.

You can google the differences yourself and read up on the information, take a look at pictures etc.

The problem is the difference between the diesel and gas motors, apparently the exhaust on the 6.4s get in the way.

It's going to be more fore looks, the most off roading I do is the dirt parking lot at work.... Mostly just have an hd for the towing (30' snowmobile trailer) and the bigger hemi. So articulation don't mean a lot for what I do (even thou I was drooling over a power wagon at the stealership last week while I was getting my state inspection done) long as I can pull a trailer still I'm happy.

I waited over a year to install my lift and get new tires as my budget didn't allow all at once and I HATE paying full price. I bought the wheels first as they were a target of opportunity. the stealership had the set of wheels a customer ordered them and changed his mind saw them made the guy an offer and declined. a month later they were still sitting there made him a lower offer and he took it ($800) as for the tires I bought from a Ebay store sent the ebayer a question asking if they offered a military discount he came back with a price shipped under a grand ($900) and the lift I picked up off of craigslist from a guy locally that bought it and had his truck repo'd before installing it. its a Zone 5.5 radius arm for $500.00. I am military so we have an auto hobby shop for us to use ( fully functional garage with lifts and all the tools) did the install myself in about 7 hours, even mounted and balanced the tires myself! So total $2200

Yeah. I hate paying retail also. My biggest issue is. I don't have a lift to pick up the truck to do it (I don't think a car jack will work to well) so I'm just going to watch eBay. Or clearance listed on Amazon (gotten pretty lucky with motorcycle stuff doing that) and find a kit (either leveling or no more the a 5" lift as I don't want to get overally carried away) and go from there. Worst case I just have to pay a small local shop to put it in for me
