I wanted 3.92's after the disappointment from my 13 that had 3.55's. There are some around with 3.92's. I know at a lot of the dealerships I went to in Houston they all had at least a few with 3.92's. Spring Dodge where I got mine had a lot of trucks with 3.92's. Should need to order one they should be able to get you one from a dealer in TX or just look online and see if you can find one yourself and just drive a little further. I won't settle for a truck that doesn't have everything I want anymore. It took me 16 months with my 13 and 3.55's before I traded it. They always try to sell you on what they have just tell them to get you what you want or you'll go to the next dealer. I went to 6 in Houston before I got my 14 Express. Played the who wants to sell me a truck the cheapest. Ended up getting $29k for my 13 Lone Star CC 4x4 and sold me a new 14 loaded express RC with 3.92's and LSD diff plus some other toys like the camera. Ended up getting one they had for $29860 and walking out paying $23,760 and owed nothing on my trade.

Wow that's impressive, well I know were going to try and get my dad a 14 1500 cause he won't be using it like I will. I will just have to play the waiting game on getting me a 2500.

Still debating on what to do fellas. On what 14hemiexpress had to say it 9/10 times will just be me pulling my trailer maybe a passenger to help if its a really long trip. I always make sure all my water etc is out of my trailer.

I don't really take much supplies as its not used for camping mainly work purposes I try to keep it as light as possible.

I'm tempted to try the 1500 but I don't want to hurt it as stated my plan was to get a programmer and some small upgrades to help give it some more balls when pulling.

Pulling isn't the problem. You could pull it with a Chevy Malibu. Problem is stopping, handling the payload from the tongue, and crosswinds on the hi way.

I'd go 2500. You don't need to go crazy and get a cummins. You can get the same packages, motor, gears, whatever that you wanted in the 1500. But as a bonus you will get a heavier suspension and better brakes.

How long is your trailer? And power won't be a issue with the 5.7. If it's just you and your trailer stays empty and you don't take any equpiment in the truck you should be able to pull it off. I'm not sure about your size but me at 240 and a 900 hitch weight and a WD hitch your looking 12-1300 lbs payload witch in relm of the 1500. If you do that I suggest the outdoorsman with the E rated tires or at least ditch the ****** Goodyear wranglers in favor of some E rated tires and some air bags. If the trailer is 28-30 ft long I would strongly consider moving up to the 3/4. There isn't a rateing that says you can only pull this long of a trailer with a 1/2 but you have to consider the side load of the camper. Watch this video http://youtu.be/kwOqARlw1EI. The wind take over that trailer being pulled by a dually. I Know that not normal conditions but as you can see it happens. I'm not sure of the size of trailer but it looks to be close to 40 witch is a big trailer, just image what a 1500 pulling a 32 would be like in that wind.

Also like stated before you don't have to jump right into the cummins the 6.4 is a awesome engine in the 2500 you just need the suspension, brakes, frame and tires.

My current trailer is 31ft, I pull it with my wife's Expedition currently fine. And that's on a half ton chassis as well.

That trailer by the looks is easily over 40ft.

I was considering the option of going hemi powered 2500 but with only a couple k difference I might as well go Cummins just due to the extra power given.

That video is scary that's for sure. I do need to purchase a truck just have to find what best suits me.

If you pull it with the expedition the ram 1500 will be fine. Expeditions realy aren't ment to tow they can but the ram 1500 will out pull that Exp any day.

Well they are just not travel trailers.

That's really the only reason I was considering a 1500 cause I assumed it could out due the expedition.

I rented a uhaul trailer to load my friends car on and pulled it with my 14 Express RC with 3.92's without any issue at all. No programmer or any mods aside from a welded in magnaflow for some sound. I just left it in 6th gear to keep the MDS off and it was good to go. I used to pull a lighter trailer with my 09 CC with a programmer on a 87 tune with the MDS off and 3.92's and didn't even notice it was their. My 13 4x4 with 3.55's would pull it but got horrible gas mileage and ended up using the tow mode a lot more. The Hemi with 3.92's will pull a lot. May want to consider some airlift bags for the back though.

Yeah my wife's expedition does need some helper bags honestly, but I am thinking of maybe going to the 2500 hemi just for the heavier suspension etc

I think that is a great idea I have pulled close to 8k with my truck and it did fine but I had it loaded over the axles on the trailer so hitch weight wasn't a issue, and it was a 1 time occuraance.

Yeah mine will be once a month maybe but still rather be safe than sorry.

Oddly enough the price difference isnt overall too bad just don't know whether to go 5.7 or 6.4 I'm sure both have there pros and con's

I can't think of any cons on the 6.4 unless you consider mds a con.

To me I see that as a pro, to me the biggest con is its a semi new motor so I worry about issues and then the aftermarket.
