Hi all.....love the site. I don't currently drive a Ram but am in the market for one. I found a 2014 Sport quad cab 4x4 with hemi that I like. It has an msrp of $45k and the dealer is asking $38k. Being that it's a 2014 I feel that I could possibly get it for less than what they're asking. What would be a good starting point in negotiations? I was thinking about $35k out the door. Does that seem reasonable? I plan to talk to them tomorrow and would really appreciate your opinions. Thanks....Bryan

Basically anything that you can get that keeps money in your pocket, or that is less money leaving your wallet now or over a period of time is good. Ask low and start from there, the worst they say is no. It's a negotiation, they are trying to get as much money from you as they can to make money and your trying to buy it for as good of a deal as you can. Someone, or both, will win!

I recently bought a 2014 Sport Crew Cab and had it shipped from Idaho to Alabama. Everything Included out the door I paid just over 35K so I would say start low, show them your interested and you push the fact that its a 2014 1/2 way through 2015. They need to move it to bring in new inventory so I bet they will work with you. If you end up going with it you will not regret it one bit, they are fantastic trucks as you know.

Thanks for the replies. I think I may offer $33k and go from there. I'll let you know how it goes.

yea, i'd start with $33k and hold firm. many people are getting 9-11k off 2015's......but sticker price has a lot to do with it. a 45k sticker would get you 9k or so off on a 15', so at least 2k more off for your one model year old truck would be ok.

depends on where u live too. in NY we are not getting the 11K off the $50,000 trucks, more like $9000-9500, some guys get a lot off the sticker, some just do ok. its all about location

You might gave better luck with a 2015. My dealer had a '14 and would hardly budge. Maybe he was getting better factory incentives in the newer models-seen that before.

Figure out what your payment would be and the cut from there. I started out with a payment preference and they came in 30$ higher. Worked my way down until they agreed on what I wanted from the beginning. Worse case they stop bargaining and that is where you stop.

I always take 3-4k off what their asking and don't budge. Plenty of trucks out there and someone will budge:) good luck and keep us posted.

Just for reference... I got a 2014 Big Horn that had an MSRP of $47k, dealer was asking $38,5k. I got it out the door for $35k. That was back in the first week of December. I would think you could even start down around $30k and go from there. They should want to get rid of it, but they may not have much money to make off of it, either... who knows? It never hurts to try, though. All they will say is no. Make sure it wasn't used as a demo vehicle or a loaner. I went through that in my buying process too. Made a deal on one, asked them to send me pics of it, including the mileage (I was 2.5 hrs away), and it already had almost 2500 miles on it. They were trying to sell it as new. I walked away from it. Glad I did, 'cause it didn't have as many of the options as I ended up with.

Went to the dealer today to look at the truck. What a truck! That thing was fine. Anyway, i told them what i wanted to pay and what i wanted for my trade in. Initially we weren't even close. They kept coming back with figures until i finally told them that I'd not finance a penny over $21k with no money out of pocket besides my trade in. They got to within $1500 of that and wouldn't budge so i walked. I'm hoping they call me back with the deal. That truck is nice.

I got the truck today. It's a 2014 Sport quad cab. I got it for nearly 10k off msrp. It was at $45k and change and I got it for what would have been $35,881 cash price. After tt&l it was $37k and change. Doesn't sound like i got as good a deal as some of you but i feel comfortable with the purchase.

Don't kid yourself! That is a GREAT price on a fantastic truck. My father in Law recently bought a 2015 F150 Lariat at $4500 off the $61K sticker. Comparatively I got my Blackout express crew for $31k. The almost 10 Grand savings off sticker is good for "mod money" down the road. Welcome to the Ramily :favorites13:, Let's see a pic!

You got a pretty good deal. Gotta remember that price is driven by several things.. demand, accessibility, blah blah blah… If you are happy with it thats all that matters!

LETS SEE PICS

Got some new tires today. Got a set of 275/60/20 Cooper Discoverer ATP's. They felt good on the drive home with maybe a little noise at 75-80mph but not too bad. Finally got around to taking a pic of the truck too so I'm going to try to load it now.
