I just have to get something off my chest.
I'm on my 4th Ram. 1st was a 1992 two-tone short bed. Sold it with 200k+ miles. 2nd was a 1998 Ram Sport, yellow, "Old Yeller". Sold it with almost 200k miles and too much rust. 3rd, and my favorite, was my 2014 2-door Sport with 111K miles, no rust, no mechanical issues (although I did have to replace the exhaust manifold bolts on the passenger side). Totaled it last November when I hit a deer.
My current Ram is the 2017 quad cab Sport that I thought would be a daily driver but has instead become a project. So far I've replaced...
1. Running boards
2. Scraped, washed, and undercoated the undercarriage with fluid film (and inside the doors, etc.) Very rusty (not rustED) underneath.
3. The radiator cover - it was missing
4. Both front wheel inner liners (they were chopped up for some reason - lazy mechanic?)
5. One headlight - a single led is was out giving me the hyper flashing
6. Lower front valance - not yet done - it is completely missing
7. Water pump inlet tube - it was rusted with giant holes
8. Power inverter on the dash - it was missing - not a big deal, really. Just odd.

And there's a lot more to do. This '17 just seems to be "cheaper", for lack of a better word, than my '14. The '17 currently has 68k miles but looks like 168k (under the hood and undercarriage). My '14, to be honest, I neglected (other than obvious maintenance like oil changes) and spent it's life in the snow and rain and winds of central Illinois but looked almost new compared to this '17. The frame was still painted black, under the hood was clean and hoses and belt looked new, and no interior water leaks (although it was getting time to replace the weather stripping).

Anyway, the '17 and I are bonding and I'm getting more used to it all the time. It still needs a lot of attention (manifold bolts for one) but she's driving and feeling better all the time. I dunno', I like saving sad, neglected things, I just didn't know I was getting into a long term project.
On the bright side, the body has no rust at all and the interior is immaculate with all the bells and whistles. I'm going to start the 100k mile maintenance soon. Since I'm now retired (day 9 now) this is going to be my forever truck.
Thanks for reading :)

Thanks jonny, but honestly, I kinda'....well, let's just say I'm still getting used to it. But it was a long, dark winter with sub-zero temps. Much too cold to heat the shop/art studio so I've felt housebound.
I've made arrangements to go into school on Fridays to make art and hang out with students so that will help. And the Route 66 Red Carpet Corridor is coming up so we'll get to take the Olds out for the day. Looking forward to that!
