2016 3500 68rfe getting P0871. New Valve Body or new tranny?

I started getting the p0871 code and the truck gets stuck out of OD or in OD depending on what it's in when it throws the code. It always happens either when I'm towing or when I accelerate quickly. I disconnect the battery for a couple minutes and it resets and drives perfect.

My dilemma is I don't want to throw a valve body on it and not fix the issue like I've seen others on here. Is there any way to diagnose more specifically what is causing the p0871? Fluid is full and clean.

P0871 OBD-II Trouble Code: Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch C Circuit Range/Performance

P0871 means there is an issue with the transmission fluid pressure, possibly that it is low, the pump is faulty, or the sensor is dirty.

Looks like you would need to monitor your trans fluid pressure and level to see. From what I read, that's a generic code for fluid pressure and is just saying 'something's wrong' but doesn't really tell you what with no other codes.
