2016 Ram

I traded in my 2013 Ram Tradesman 4x4 and bought a new 2016 Ram Sport 4x4. I love the truck but....... It has a propane smell coming from the vents. Anyone else have this issue?

Mine had that funky smell coming from the vents for a while when it was new. Now it only does it if I have the A/C on and punch the throttle. Almost smells like an old cigarette butt.

That's weird, mine never did that. I'd call the dealer and ask them about it.

never did that for me, i'd have turned right around and went back to the stealership!

Mine did something similar for the first thousand miles or so. It's some sort of light oil coating burning off. They coat new engines with it to prevent rust or something. It smelled like burning oil in mine, though, not propane.

Mine did not do that although I bought in the summer so I was running the AC not the heat.

My 16 Sport only smells like new car. I'd take it to the dealer, is it like a burning electronics smell?

The truck has 3000 miles on it and I started to notice he smell around 2500 miles. I am going to take it to the dealer I just wanted to go in there with some knowledge about this so they don't tell me "we can't smell anything out of the ordinary or we have never heard of this" routine.

It actually kinda smells like propane. After doing some more research, these trucks had issues with the cooling hoses and coolant giving off a propane odor but I only found the issue on a few 2013 models. I think they would of have resolved any issues on the 2016 model.

My truck had a weird smell for the first couple of hundred miles, but it went away. Can't hurt to have the dealer check though.

yep I have about the same smell. I need to take time to take it in, Only have 2100 miles on it .
