2017 Ram 2500 Factory Service Manual

Does anyone have a link to a 2017 Ram 2500 factory service manual PDF file? The only link I could find on the forum only covers up to 2016 (even though the link name says it covers through 2017). My truck is a 2017 Ram 2500 Laramie 4WD MegaCab with a 6.7L Cummins.

The 2016 and 2017 2500 series RAM trucks are practically the same (both are 4th Gen trucks) - so there is 99% likely that there is nothing different between the two years. Unless you run into something that is VERY specific to the 2017 model year RAMs, you should be just fine using the 2016. Also, unfortunately, I don't have any service manuals that specific.

It's all online now and requires paid subscription, there hasn't been traditional service manuals as we know them in years so highly unlikely you will find a complete service manual. You might find info here and there that people have posted but that's about it.

What's different? Both call for a 52029762AI DEF tank and both call for a 68085908AH pump on both a 2016 and 2017. There aren't any changes that I'm aware of. Both systems on my 2016 3500 and current 2018 2500 looked identical as far as I can tell. The parts diagrams seem to agree with that.

Just to tag on to what nlambert was saying, there is no difference, but I believe the "manual" you found, (though labeled 13-16) is actually a much older manual (it might actually be a 2012?) if it's the one I am thinking of. Still has a lot of good info but the emission system info will be out of date.

Yes, the manual file I downloaded from this site was labeled "Dodge_Ram_2500_3500_2012-2017". The dates indicated are obviously not correct for the content contained in the manual.

You can piece it together using the parts diagrams found at the mopar stores. What specific information are you trying to find?

My first priority is the DEF pump removal & installation procedures, including the identification of the tool to remove the DEF pump locking ring. Had to spend over $2000 dollars recently to replace the DEF pump at a dealer while away from home pulling my travel trailer. Not to mention having to wait 2 days for them to get it in stock. I do all of my own repairs & maintenance, so I much prefer having the service manual on hand.

There are some great youtube videos out there that explain the removal. Much better (IMO) than paying for a manual. The bonus to the videos (or forums) are that most will explain little gotchas that the manual doesn't mention (like making SURE DEF doesn't touch the pump wiring, or it corrodes the connectors).

I bought a CD manual from this seller mine was only formatted for windows browsers wouldn’t work with a MAC OS I don’t know why the 2500 is the most expensive I guess because it’s the most sought after ?

The manual I bought for my 1500 is spot on I think there were several copyrights to the Chrysler/FCA information sold to different distributors some on CD others on Flash drive cards after their publication quotas were met they ceased to distribute I had bought from both the CD and the electrical manuals from autotech authority based out of San Jose CA the CD I bought from eBay was identical in that it was encrypted just like the original.

I think since Chrysler and FCA both had publication rights it was legal to publish and distribute these CD’s but since Stellantis bought FCA and time has past the electronic publishing in CD form is obsolete and subscriptions are only possible

I would not buy those CD's, pretty sure they are cobbled together and not a real factory manual. I know they do not include the schematics from what I have seen.

You are better off getting a couple day online subscription and downloading the info you need.

BBB accreditation is no better than a small town Chamber of Commerce membership and that’s all it is a membership they are not immune to prosecution and a local office in Los Angeles was shut down because of fraud.

You’d think consumers would see through this conflict of interest by being paid by the businesses they accredit

tech authority cd arent cobbled together. are they good as toyota manuals ,maybe not but most other manuals arent either.
its not uncommon for wiring stuff to be in a seperate book or cd. toyota wiring stuff is in a seperate book as well
