2017 vs 2021 Ram 1500 HEMI

Hello everyone, new here! I'd like some feedback/suggestions from you guys that know a lot more about these trucks than I do. I am currently looking at either a 2017 1500 HEMI Larami and a 2021 1500 HEMI/eTorque. Both of these have around the same miles, 119,000 and the price point is about the same. Obviously the 2017 is "nicer" as it is a Laramie - but my question is would you guys suggest the older/laramie or the newer/Bighorn being that mileage is about the same? I know its not an apples to apples comparison, but would like some feedback please. Not sure if I went with the 2017 Laramie if it would last just as long as the 2021 due to mileage similarity or if I should go with the 2021? Thanks in advance!

I bought a used Longhorn last year. I had a thorough list of 'wants' and 'do not wants' for the various options. At the very top of my 'do not wants' list was this reminder: DO NOT BUY IF IT HAS ETORQUE

My personal experience with eTorque was a neighbor who bought brand new RAM 1500 a couple years back, and he had so many problems with the eTorque that he eventually returned it under my state (Rhode Island) Lemon Law.

I also did quite a bit of research and study on the eTorque system, and I ended up completely baffled as to what it actually accomplishes. Now if you were simply leasing a new truck and it had eTorque, then no big deal. But I will never ever outright purchase a RAM if it has eTorque.

The 17 is also a pre-covid truck,the 21 was built right in the midst of covid,and being an e-torque truck,it's not what i'd call a great truck. If both have roughly the same milege,i'd buy the 17 over the 21,as odds are it'll have less issues down the road

I just sold a 16 with 93k. So the mileage on the 17 is not out of line at all. Drive it, don't worry about mileage
