CA legal headers for 5.7 Hemi storage, worth it?

I have a 2021 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi etorque and both of the stock iron manifold headers cracked so I’m needing to replace them.

1) are there even any headers that are CA-legal for this engine?

2) is it worth it to shift to aftermarket headers versus stock iron headers from a performance and gas mileage standpoint?

And before anyone else says it, getting rid of the etorque and going with just the Hemi isn’t an option for me. Appreciate any other advice though!

Checkout these JBA Shorties. I think this is your only option. Put the CARB EO sticker under your hood. Get some good bolts to (Stage 8 brand will work). JBA_SHeaders_5.7HEMI_eTorque

Do Not waste your money on Stage 8 bolts,you can't get all the locking clips on them,and if you ever have to remove the headers,you'll be looking for the guy that sold the stage 8's to you. They make removing an already tough bolt to get at,way harder. Any grade 5 bolt is lots good enough for a set of headers,you're only torquing them to 20 lb-ft at most. The majority of headers come with bolts,and the bolts supplied are more then adequate
Where you want to spend money is on the gaskets,spring for a set of Remflex 6022 gaskets.
If AFE shorties are Carb legal,they're your best option when it comes to shorties.

I have no idea if they are C.A.R.B legal, but to answer your second question, shorty headers won’t really do anything to improve performance. I doubt you’ll see any fuel economy benefit either. The main benefit of them is that they won’t crack like your stock cast iron exhaust manifolds did.

Good to know about the Stage 8 bolts, had no idea. Unfortunately, the next owner is going to have to possibly deal with that if it comes to it. LOL..

They are a stock replacement that will last and be a reliable option. They are currently IN stock! They come with quality hardware and gaskets, so nothing else is needed.
